Draft talk:Everyone's got an opinion

I'm not sure what the thrust of this article is supposed to be.
Because everyone actually does have their own opinion.
These opinions may be correct, incorrect, well-informed, misinformed or whatever - but everyone has them.
Nevertheless, while people are actually fully entitled to their own opinions, they they are not entitled to have their own facts. Things which can be independently demonstrated. Maybe this is where the article is supposed to be going - I have no idea.Bob"Life is short and (insert adjective)" 14:30, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
- There's a point to be made under the assumption that "all opinions are equally valid", but I'm pretty sure that falls under balance fallacy Plutocow (talk) 17:46, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
- Sure and not everyone's opinion is equally valid, and - as you suggest - the truth generally does not fall somewhere in between. A qualified cartographer's opinion about the shape of the planet will carry more weight that of your mad friend Ben down the pub who thinks the Earth is flat. (Now I think about it I'm not even sure how you would get balance between "flat" and "largely spherical".)
- But maybe we will see later whatever the article wants to go on about.Bob"Life is short and (insert adjective)" 20:55, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
