Forum:Liberty University
The first time I saw the name "Liberty University", at first I thought is was like a research college like University of Michigan or Yale. Boy was I wrong, I first saw the name on a search engine and it didn't mention anything religious until I clicked the link. After really reading about them that is when I realized how bat shit insane they were. I know a religious college is sometimes a good school (Such as Baylor and Pepperdine Universities) but LU is just nuts. I do not know if anyone else thought at first that it was a research college but I bet others mistook LU as one. --Rationalzombie94 (talk) 16:58, 2 May 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, I think that's the point. Jerry Falwell and all the other people who started that organization have the sole purpose of trying to make it seem like a legitimate college in order to try and get people to go there. By giving a name like Liberty University, they can convince people that it's a legitimate college, just like any others that you mention in casual, everyday conversation. The irony is that Liberty University is exactly not. There's a curfew, you can't drink alcohol, your hair has to be a certain length, you can't have a beard, and you have to wear certain clothes. They also have mandatory Bible study, and things like that. It is essentially a scam. I originally thought that it was a legitimate University too, until I looked into it. 50.155.88.106 (talk) 00:27, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
- I think I actually first heard of it here or perhaps on a Bill Maher video. Needless to say then I new it was bullshit from the beginning. Samstr (talk) 02:30, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
Safe to say they have Rational wiki blocked on their computer systems as well as most of the internet (I would not be shocked at all).--Rationalzombie94 (talk) 15:55, 9 May 2015 (UTC)
