Forum:Tls for the wiki
greetings. i have just created an account, after spending quite some time pouring over the site. i am generally very enjoying of the content hear, and found some spots where i thought i could contribute, so here i am
one thing that has bothered me, when signing up, is there is no https for this site. this means that when i sign in, my password is being sent in cleartext. not a very exciting prospect
i wanted to suggest that rationalwiki get a free ssl certificate from startssl. they do good work imo in a pretty terrible industry (certificate authorities)
if y'all desire any help with this, i have domain knowledge to offer about how to do this safely and effectively — Unsigned, by: Hhh / talk / contribs
- This might actually be a good idea, regardless of which service we use. Doesn't Google factor SSL certification into their ranking? FuzzyCatTomato (talk/stalk) 01:01, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
- Yeeup. It's on the big list of "things to get into place" - David Gerard (talk) 19:49, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
