Fun:Ben Shapiro

Ben Shapiro is a conservative "intellectual", known for debating LIEberals on issues such as trans people existing and racism.

While you may be familiar with many of his videos, there's actually one debate that's not as famous but is still very important, called Ben Shapiro DESTROYS Cancer Patient, where he debates a, you guessed it, cancer patient, on multiple issues.

In this debate, unfortunately, the cancer patient was so overwhelmed with Shapiro's superior arguments that he couldn't respond at all. However, here at IrrationalWiki, we will engage Shapiro's arguments in his place.

Context[edit]

Before this debate, Shapiro's opponent was informed that his cancer had spread throughout his entire body. He's given 2 weeks to live.

The debate itself[edit]

Facts don't care about your feelings.

Shapiro gets the first word in, mentioning his catchphrase. This is not only to sound good in the video, it's a warning to his opposition. When Shapiro says this, he informs his debate partner that he will only engage with arguments based in facts, and alerts his partner that if he will use arguments based on their feelings, it will be better to accept defeat early, lest he wants his arguments to be mercilessly destroyed and return home crying.

So you have 2 weeks left to live, allegedly. Sure, let's say you have 1 week left to live. That's one week of labor cost for your hospital for every employee that takes care of you. That's thousands of dollars that could've been spent on bombing Iran.

Shapiro here argues against spending money on this patient's care, on the basis that there are better uses for that money, such as engaging enemies of the USA, in this case Iran. This is a strong argument not easy to refute. Consider the situation: This person already has one foot in the grave. No matter what we do, he's already dead. Due to his disease, he's no longer contributing to the country, but instead being a drain on society's resources. On the other hand, engaging Iran in a war benefits the entire country, as it keeps us all safe.

Of course, there's a feelings based argument here, that war is bad, that we as a society should not be letting people such as him to die in the street and it's our moral duty to take care of them and give them a dignified end (the alternative to this being overworked until you can't even stand on your two feet, then being discarded of by society the moment you are unable to work). But these are all feelings, which Shapiro, as mentioned when the debate begun, is not interested in.

If healthcare is a human right, why didn't 18th century slaveowners put it in the constitution.

Now that he's done destroying healthcare for this specific patient, he escalates, arguing against healthcare as a right for people. He makes the argument that such a right cannot be found on the perfect US Constitution, so such a right doesn't exist. He's obviously right, as any intellectual should recognize, nothing more to argue here.

The feelings based argument its that it doesn't matter if it's in the constitution, it's something that a society should give to people anyway. But again, this is not based on any hard facts, but rather in feelings.

Let's say I'm a cannibal, okay? Let's say I wanna eat your flesh, okay? If healthcare is a human right, which includes abortion, then logically, cannibalism is also a human right, correct?

This is also a strong argument. If abortion is recognized as a right (something that comes with healthcare), this immediately eliminates the sanctity of lifeWikipedia given to humanity (because it would legalize murder), opening the door to cannibalism.

Of course, anti-lifers will argue that there's no relation at all between cannibalism and abortion, but, you know the drill.

Let's say I already consumed your entire family Mr. Ericson. Hypothetically speaking what can you do about it?

Here Shapiro makes a feeling-based argument introduces his debate partner to the horrors of recognizing healthcare as a human right by presenting him with an example, in this case the hypothetical that Shapiro has already exercised his right to cannibalism.

Premature end[edit]

As Shapiro floats towards the patient in order to eat him while a video of him laughing is projected into the room, he's interrupted by cannibal warlord[1] Alex Jones, who proceeds to consume him, ending the debate early.

The video ends with the cancer patient, Jones and Shapiro dancing to the Ben Shapiro cover of the song WAP, by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion.
