2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

How provincial of you. humanUser talk:Human 18:52, 31 October 2007 (EDT)
I have to agree. This is a VERY provincial description of the word "football". In every country outside of the US this would be called "American Football". Shouldn't it be renamed to reflect the global nature on the RW community?--Bobbing up 14:35, 28 November 2007 (EST)

I would say the name comes from the running style of the game. Because you run with your foot while carrying the ball. However it does come in contact of the foot during a drop kick, such as a punt, or a field goal, kickoff, safety kick. — Unsigned, by: Xxezrabxxx / talk / contribs
