2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $10, $20 or whatever you can today with PayPal Logo.png!

Would 'catching another (known curable/more interesting or liveable-with) disease which somehow kills off rabies (causing a fever which burns the pathogen off etc) work? Anna Livia (talk) 10:20, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

@Anna Livia With prion disease, there is no chance of survival. Prion disease is 100% lethal and without cure or treatment. With Clinical Rabies there is a chance of survival. --Rationalzombie94 (talk) 03:18, 25 January 2019 (UTC)
A case of 'vague edge of knowledge/seems possible in some cases' - and probably most people who ask the question know of the 'malaria used to cure syphilis' story. Anna Livia (talk) 10:13, 25 January 2019 (UTC)
