Dr Who and the Mongol Hordes[edit]

Dr Who is an illegal immigrant who interferes with English/British history.

The Mongol Hordes only confined themselves to ravaging other groups of foreigners.

Therefore the Mongol Hordes are better than Dr Who. 31.51.113.66 (talk) 10:26, 22 July 2017 (UTC)

Modern editorial viewpoints[edit]

The section on modern editorial viewpoints is way too long for comfort and should be shortened. 2.26.12.1 (talk) 22:58, 3 May 2020 (UTC)

Once you eliminate Princess Diana and Madeleine McCann (possibly Yellowstone), there isn't much left. -Albannach (talk) 11:20, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

Decline in quality[edit]

My parents used to get several newspapers everyday, and from what I can tell it has undergone a major decline. Under Lord Beaverbook, it certainly had issues (see article), but also contained something approaching proper journalism. It was a middle brow broadsheet.

It had certainly declined a lot by the eighties leading my parents to question why they ever bought it, although the reading level was less moronic than the red tops, and there was less football. The stories about Atlantis etc were already there, but buried in the middle - most of that was fluff journalism and fun to read.

The turning point was Diana's death, and ever since then a ridiculous percentage of its front covers have featured her. It is hard to tell how much of the readership takes it seriously, or how much influence it has. I'm amazed it's still going.-Albannach (talk) 11:20, 10 August 2021 (UTC)
