So why doesn't 'ordinary ear piercing' have any effect? Anna Livia (talk) 17:56, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
- It has to be done at exactly the right place or you'll affect their adrenal gland or blood pressure instead of promoting weight loss: the entire body is mapped onto that tiny oval of cartilage.[1][2] Plus, the placebo effect is increased by greater medical ritual, and having a bored 18 year old shove a hole punch in your ear doesn't give the same impression as a holistic auricular therapist with precision ear calipers, maybe? --Annanoon (talk) 22:03, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
- But are persons with multiple ear-piercings and 'hole-rings' in their earlobes affected? (Hint - I am unconvinced of the procedure.) Anna Livia (talk) 23:12, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
