2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

Scribe training?[edit]

I have often heard part of the reason the Epic is so well attested in cuneiform is that it was used as a form of "scribe training" for centuries. Being copied countless times by scribes learning their trade. Maybe this also explains the weird style of repeating some things over and over again and also repeating some things, which are sometimes repeated. Often more thaen once. Did I mention repetitions? Is there substance to this or is that only a common misconception by layfolk such as myself? Avengerofthe BoN (talk) 17:20, 17 September 2015 (UTC)

Gilgamesh tablet seizure[edit]

Will mention this here - is there a better home for it? Anna Livia (talk) 09:17, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
