Just a note …[edit]

I get that some of Disney is relevant to the site, but I’m not sure how missional this movie is.. Patty Pat 17:46, 9 April 2022 (UTC)

This should be an article for funspace. Pizza SLICE.gifChef Moosolini’s Ristorante ItalianoMake a Reservation 19:19, 9 April 2022 (UTC)
I'm basing it on the articles for WALL-E and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, as tbf there's similar criticism across MLP:FIM and Frozen over their themes and the fandoms who appreciate them, mostly from conservative groups. I don't think that the film is out of scope considering the ire conservatives have over the film as well as Disney's efforts at indigenous advocacy (who some may see as being pretentious and for the sake of brownie points). Blakegripling ph (talk) 02:59, 10 April 2022 (UTC)
there is not a whole lot missional about those articles either. AMassiveGay (talk) 17:42, 11 April 2022 (UTC)
the my little pony one especially, seemingly only exist to justify being a 'brony'. i seem to remember much heated debate on the talk page about that particular (non)issue. AMassiveGay (talk) 17:46, 11 April 2022 (UTC)
I distinctly recall that conservatives lost their fucking minds over this movie because it's one of the very few movies with a Disney princess that doesn't end with the princess being turned into eyecandy for some generic prince in shining armor. Plus there's the entire Elsagate bullshit where a bunch of YouTube content that was seemingly aimed at kids (and got passed to the filtered YouTube app) turned out to be pedophilic grooming material. The former meets the mission because fundies are fucking nuts, the second meets it because pedophilia is crank. Don't see a reason to consider this a funspace article in the slightest. -- Techpriest (talk) 23:31, 11 April 2022 (UTC)
If fundies went nuts over it, it was because it was not just the most successful Disney film in a while, but the most successful Disney film ever. There isn't really anything much too unusual about criticism of a Disney film from some quarters. Racism, sexism, homophobia all get thrown at Disney, their back catalogue is full objectionable content, while the every new release gets the same criticisms from the same quarters only now they get attacked by more conservative critics for anything seen as possibly pandering to those complaining about racism, sexism, homophobia. Fundies bitching about this one just isn't that noteworthy imho. Controversy over Disney films probably warrants its own article, but this one film only seems like it does if you are to ignore every other Disney film. The Elsagate stuff seems like it would need a mention someplace else rather than here. It's unrelated to anything about frozen beyond stealing it's lead character, and that's down to its popularity more than anything else, the same reason Spiderman and joker are in the vids too. Frozen is not the only movie used to trick kids into clicking on dubious videos.AMassiveGay (talk) 09:08, 12 April 2022 (UTC)
Not that the article doesn't deserve a space though. If there's any saving grace, it's the topic of homeopathy in the sequel that makes it at least somewhat missional considering the concerns by some that the film may be indoctrinating young viewers into pseudoscience under the guise of fantasy.
