Consider the number described by the phrase
"The square root of thirty-six"
Phrases can denote numbers clearly and unambiguously, can't they?
Am I being a dumb-arse here, or was the writer of that? Either I'm being a dumb-arse and not acknowledging this is rhetorical, or the writer didn't know the square root of 36 is 6, or minus 6.

Inclusion of statistical paradoxes[edit]
I wanted to update this article to include some paradoxes that appear in statistics, such as Simpson's paradox. Would those additions fit with the rest of the article? I ask because not everyone considers statistics to be part of mathematics proper, but I also can't think of enough statistical paradoxes to warrant their own article. — Unsigned, by: Gabaghoul / talk / contribs
