Your sig[edit]
is artless and intolerable. Email me a suitable depiction of the planarium and I will make you something worthy of even the most obsessive aspie's envy. Be quick. I'll only be drunk until the stroke of midnight on January Somethingth. Chop chop. 07:28, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
- If you think that's bad, you should see the old file I just restored. I did not intend for it look like that :-/ Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 07:35, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
- Looks like a snake with a penis, & why not? But seriously, that file is way too big for a signature. Please reduce it or replace it with something. WèàšèìòìďMethinks it is a Weasel 12:14, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
For goat's sake[edit]
Please for to create a template for housing your siggy, change your signature preference to paste said template onto whatever drivel you've managed to splatter onto whatever talk page. Really, adding 420bytes to sign your name each and every time seems a little, (I dunno), histrionic? Yours, C®ackeЯ

I hate your new three-image sig. Can you shrink down the icons or restrict yourself to one? I'd appreciate, and so would the rest of the sighted world. Thanks!--talk 03:22, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

trollfeeding[edit]
I don't think RW is capable of not feeding the troll. It's a group culture thing. It drives me nuts. sterilesporadic heavy hitter 21:47, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

EvoWiki[edit]
What were you planning to do there again? Peter Subsisting on honey 03:23, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
- Fix it up and get it to serve as a decent RWF competitor to Palaeos. Sophie said it's right up my alley, and I feel (if nothing else) it would be an interesting project and a nice way to kill time while contributing. Immortality's fun, except when you become a two-headed monster Talk to me 03:32, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
- I have been interested in doing that in the past myself, but the question always is: what would you do there that you couldn't do on RW? Peter Subsisting on honey 04:18, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
- We have mostly off-mission articles here (like flagellum) that would fit like a glove on EvoWiki (I actually think our articles were just half-arsed ports from it); you also have things like my cyanobacteria article that would, on here, be at best a paragraph in the pre-Cambrian article but would warrant their own article on EvoWiki. (The spirulina section should probably be ported over to the desperately in need of attention superfood article.) Immortality's fun, except when you become a two-headed monster Talk to me 04:24, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
- Evowiki is a bit of a mess right now, but is still used a bit. I think we should ask Trent if we can go clean up the broken templates and out-of-date information, and then maybe work our way up to the Palaeos competitor part if we can manage it. We wouldn't need to be mods to do that either. Thoughts? Peter Subsisting on honey 04:30, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
- I think that sounds like a brilliant idea; the "EvoWiki as Palaeos competitor" will ultimately be a long-term project. Immortality's fun, except when you become a two-headed monster Talk to me 04:36, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
- We really need to finish the discussion about what the purpose of EW even is. I don't personally think it makes any sense to develop it. I've been advocating to the board that we assimilate what's relevant to our mission, remove that material from EW so it doesn't soak our traffic, and then continue curating EW until we decide what to do with it. But even if I'm wrong, we still don't have a board decision on what the point of the thing even is. It's not really on our docket but if I'm reelected I'll make sure we get it solved. We've got other RWF projects that have greater potential to expand the RWF's reach but EW is venerable and deserves respect. So. Eh. I commented. I'm drunk and I haven't even left the house. 05:20, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
- Every time we have a discussion in the bar, it gets swept away into the barchives with the vomit and ejaculate of that fortnight. Maybe we should move this or start a new post in the saloon bar and sticky? Add a project? Intercom message? No clue. (Also, how are you drunk and typing with proper grammar?) Immortality's fun, except when you become a two-headed monster Talk to me 05:23, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
- On-site discussion on this never seems to go anywhere, so everything really is waiting on the board. I think your plan is good, Nutty, except that we aren't actually doing any "curating" right now. I'm thinking that if we gave the place a dust-off we would be more likely to get around to dealing with it properly. Right now we have a site with grey rectangles for pictures declaring itself to be a "project of the RationalWiki Foundation" - not a great look. Peter Subsisting on honey 08:23, 1 January 2013 (UTC)

Maybe before we fix EvoWiki, perhaps we should give the to-do list a revamp so things on there are more likely to be done. Pibot's slacking there with the archiving; the bottom of the list has 2009 referred to in future tense outside of quotes. A tip[edit]
The best way to 'not feed the troll' is to not respond in any way at all. Poking them with a stick will only lead to a troll-like response and make the poker look a bit childish. ГенгисRationalWiki GOLD member 08:03, 11 January 2013 (UTC)
