Would anybody be against the addition of this image to illustrate the article? I think it would be very informative in this context, and help debunk the traditional "line" view of politics, with only "left" and "right". Comments? --HVista-epiphany.pngjimachong 01:11, 23 October 2007 (EDT)

Yeah, it's "ok", but I prefer the one that I used on my user page (and you, I think, too?). Hey, it's a wiki, run with the idea - can you make up some lies text about the whole "political compass" thing to go with it? Perhaps even mention that there are many axes of political difference? humanUser talk:Human 01:36, 23 October 2007 (EDT)
Bah... well, it's a start. --HVista-epiphany.pngjimachong 01:57, 23 October 2007 (EDT)
It's a wiki. A "start" sometimes produces great outcomes. Go for it. humanUser talk:Human 02:10, 23 October 2007 (EDT)

Politicians deaths[edit]

Could there be a list of bizarre deaths of politicians?

Drunk driving - Jorg Haider

Trains - William Husskisson (the first known death due to being hit by a train)

Spencer Percival - shot in misapprehension of being a different politician. 82.44.143.26 (talk) 18:57, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

Parties and the Political Compass[edit]

We have individual articles on both of these topics (political party and Political Compass). Would anyone mind if I replace those sections here with links, maybe merging some of it into the separate articles? Röstigraben (talk) 07:00, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

Gender Politics[edit]

Can someone do an article on it, with a passing reference to gender-changing fish etc. 'Category of subjects' which tends to generate weasel words and mockery from those not involved (of whatever gender). I do not have enough information on the subject cluttering up my brain to write the article. 212.85.6.26 (talk) 15:34, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

... and I do not fancy 'a dose of brain warp'. 212.85.6.26 (talk) 16:53, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

The difference between politicians and statespersons[edit]

Involves a Norwegian Blue parrot. 86.146.100.6 (talk) 09:29, 27 July 2017 (UTC)

Politicians and citizenship tests[edit]

If would-be politicians were made to sit the relevant citizenship tests for their countries before they could stand/run, how many would pass? 86.146.100.6 (talk) 09:29, 27 July 2017 (UTC)

Ad Hominem[edit]

I love how I'm told to take it to the talk page and when I do my posts get deleted and I get banned and (falsely) called a troll, I wish y'all would realize not everyone who disagrees with you is a troll stop using pejoratives. I don't see what's wrong with my quote and stop using the word weirdo to describe me it's mean.--2607:FEA8:2B80:C7:9CF7:F65E:E324:57FA (talk) 16:24, 1 May 2022 (UTC)

Then don't act like a troll. Like say... In this post, or in this post, or in this post... Or edit warring over a quote you aren't even getting right per your own damned source. And then you have the nerve to claim other people are engaging in ad homs, which is functionally just more trolling... Grow up, give a reason for the (actual) quote, or fuck off. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 02:58, 4 May 2022 (UTC)
And apparently blanking article content elsewhere.... Damn, I wonder why people think that someone who acts like a troll is, in fact, a troll. A real mystery that. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 03:00, 4 May 2022 (UTC)
I don't really see how any of those posts are trolly, as everything I said is correct. Apparently to you Milan Kundera is troll. I also didn't blank any article content I updated one page and made correct edits, and removed unnecessary quotes in other pages. I think politics are the opium of the people which is what my source backed up you fool. I fail to see how that is trolling, also telling me to grow up is quite ironic, removing my quote is LITERALLY the Unbearable Lightness of Being (I know you don't know that book, because education failed you). I bet you study political "science" LOL.--2607:FEA8:2B80:C7:19F0:E2DF:2A18:B159 (talk) 20:04, 4 May 2022 (UTC)
It says optimism. OPTIMISM. In your own fucking source. Fuck off. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 18:31, 7 May 2022 (UTC)
I can't tell if you're trolling or just dumb. Firstly apparently reading the quote was too hard for you as when you have brackets [like this], that means you are inserting a words into a quote which is what I did with politics. Secondly, you clearly have not read the Joke by Milan Kundera (polisci kids can't read anyways LOL) or the source at all. In that novel which is set in Communist Czechoslovakia (I know you probably didn't know that Czechoslovakia was a country but the internet is free), Ludvik the main character notices that politics are just giving people optimism but at the end of the day we are all still walking in chains. Specifically that book tackles how folk traditions and religions were made worse under the Communist regime of Czechoslovakia. As Ludvik does get banned for talking badly about the gouverment. Also telling someone to "F*** off" is very immature, I know you're jealous because I am studying something which isn't political science LMAO and that I actually have historical knowledge which you don't have but I would recommend therapy instead of bullying random people on the internet. Maybe you should read a self help book like 12 rules for life --2607:FEA8:2B80:5FA:C86F:55CF:50E0:BCCC (talk) 17:35, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
