I AM A FREAK-O-ZOID COME ON AND DANCE WITH MEDSFARGEG 19:50, 15 February 2009 (EST)
- I'm sorry, I couldn't hear what you were saying; I was too distracted by the ALL CAPS FONT. : ) Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 00:21, 13 March 2009 (EDT)
If robot has to be human made to do stuff on behalf of humans... what do you call the stuff made by machines to do stuff on behalf of machines? Thieh 16:34, 2 April 2009 (EDT)
- Machines making better machines is one of the many definitions used to describe the singularity. Marklar. Exiled Encyclopedist (talk) 16:03, 31 October 2014 (UTC)
- Tey have robots that build different robots but that's not necessarily on their behalf. The singularity is described as machines making incomprehensibly better upgrades unpredictable to the humans who made them. Exiled Encyclopedist (talk) 06:33, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
Mission[edit]
Why? ТyAhoy! 13:14, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
- Here's 5 articles that show why, AI box experiment, LessWrong Isaac Asimov Drone and Roko's basilisk. Also the article now deals with 4 of the worlds major religions, giving it one of the wider religious coverages of any article here.
I would like to here Weaseloids reason for tagging this article, other than the obvious being spiteful and showing superiority via pissing. I assume someone else who edits this article would be willing to back me up on it's validity and ask Weasaloid to please stop disrupting the wiki. Legendary Automatons[edit]
I would think most of the legends of ancient automatons would be keeping with rational wikis statement of purpose. I recently added some copy pasta from Wikipedia but it was deleted; I would like to discuss this. Amateur Encyclopedist (talk) 20:38, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
- Copy pasting from wikipedia is why it was deleted.--Miekal 20:41, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
- Mind pointing out the part of rational wiki which says this is a valid cause for deletion? Amateur Encyclopedist (talk) 21:37, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
- Sure, the part where we aren't wikipedia.--Miekal 21:44, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
- The real reason is that copy-pasting from Wikipedia doesn't add anything of value, since the material is already found on Wikipedia. Nullahnung (talk) 21:48, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

- Imagine I didn't put it there and it's original content just for this wiki, all you have to do is just go inside your T.A.R.D.I.S. Oh, why hello 1st encyclopedist; my you've grown. Vworp.

Mission[edit]
I don't see how any of this article serves our missions. It's just a collection of trivia. WẽãšẽĩõĩďMethinks it is a Weasel 20:02, 25 October 2014 (UTC)
- Agree. Scream!! (talk) 20:55, 25 October 2014 (UTC)
- Your mission is biased towards disproving religion even in cases where the trick used is described by credible authors like Strong and Godwin suggesting their was mechanical sciences employed best described as out of place artifacts. How does one fake stage magic without the materials to do stage magic; that's the only logical explanation for the events described other than outright fabrication of the story.
- You detail all sorts of fabrications here (they are called religions), so this is dead on for mission statement. You are just scared by the very thought of mythological mechanics; Happy Halloween.
CensoredScribeExiled Encyclopedist (talk) 16:03, 31 October 2014 (UTC)- English; do you speak it EE? Scream!! (talk) 16:22, 31 October 2014 (UTC)
- Why, are you a racist; or do you just sound like one? Now as it's always you three; I'm starting to think your working together to undermine this wiki. Please see the Chicken Coop; I suggest flash mobbing the jury in your favor as I've done. There's a reason the law uses only 12. Exiled Encyclopedist (talk) 17:22, 31 October 2014 (UTC)

Mission accomplished[edit]
Here's 5 articles that show why this is part of the mission, AI box experiment, LessWrong Isaac Asimov Drone and Roko's basilisk. Also the article now deals with 4 of the worlds major religions, giving it one of the wider religious coverages of any article here.
Mind defining the parameters needed for a final decision on this matter Weasaloid, or do you want that ugly template on here forever? How many votes, how many jurors, and how long is the voting period going to be and your flash mob get to decide more than my flash mob? I have listed the reasons this article is part of Rationalwiki's mission statement in the other mission section. You are all being needlessly disruptive, Weasaloid is pro spite. Exiled Encyclopedist (talk) 06:39, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
- This site's missions are listed within the template. I don't see how the current content of this article meaningfully covers any of them. Pointing at other articles doesn't help; neither does all this mudslinging & impugning other people's motives. ₩€₳$€£ΘĪÐMethinks it is a Weasel 09:05, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
- Your basically acting like a child whose only means of questioning is asking why repeatedly; just asking why is not a persuasive point and multiplying zero gets you zero. Argue why it isn't part of the mission statement as the burden of proof is on you as the one who added the template, not on me.
According to Jean Baudrillard, objects are definable mostly through comparison and contrast to other objects. Please tell me what AI box experiment and Roko's basilisk have to do with religion, pseudo science or authoritarianism when sapient AI are currently non existent.
The page for Ether is mostly about urban legends involving it, realize that memetically these ancient legends from of the the world major religions are considerably more wide spread than the many urban legends detailed on Rational Wiki. That counts as pseudo science, crank and authoritarian, even if it isn't talked about in the media; that's 3 out of 4 mission points. How many of the four mission statements need to be hit for you to end your war on me master?
I predict your response will be less than 6 lines long and will include the same point multiple times as well as another question that I've already answered. Exiled Encyclopedist (talk) 16:22, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
- While there is space for an article on robots in this wiki, I don't think this current page is it. Robots do feature in a number of crank theories and are often considered as an instrument for authoritarian governments. However, the article does not address this, instead rambling about history and trivia. --TiaC (talk) 06:51, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
- I agree with TiaC. Furthermore, if other articles are claimed to not meet the mission standards then the place to discuss that is on their talk pages and not here. --Weirdstuff (talk) 07:13, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
Fembots[edit]
Shouldn't we add a category on fembots? It would help bring this in line with the mission statement. — Unsigned, by: Bazer63 / talk / contribs 12:42, 23 November 2014
