- Hummm, yeah. I have seen it touted a few times as an ancient Japanese secret for long life, when only people who lived in South Africa (or avid botanists) even knew it existed before 2000. Some one stated the Japanese called Rooibos "long life tea", when it was green tea the phrase was referring to. Was kind of funny people were recycling woo. Like cranberry juice - some potential health benefits, but should be enjoyed rather than taken for its actual or supposed medical uses.
