Talk:Science (TV channel)
Delete or not[edit]
I'd say don't delete. It's actually a worthwhile page, if anyone can give a REVIEW of the quality of science on the science tv, who funds it, etc. I know Discovery Channel Science, SUCKS in its science. Unless you really think there were aliens in Egypt. GodotGrow a vagina 14:50, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
- Currently it needs a lot of work. Генгисmarauding 14:51, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
- Oh my god, this *is* the discovery one. well, *some* work is comming, as i HATE this channel. heh. :-) GodotGrow a vagina 14:52, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, I thought it might be referring to that one, which is part of the reason as to why I felt it should be deleted. Fuckertalk to me :D|see my shit 14:56, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
- Cable TV + science = woo up the wazoo, right? Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 15:14, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
- It's not really "wooie" - it's just CRAPPY. UK get's Horizion, we get "Monster bug wars" "Jaws week" and "Anvil Toss". GodotGrow a vagina 15:18, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
- Ah, I see, it's more in the "Blow Shit Up" genre of pop science. Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 15:22, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
- Yep. -- Oh, no. i have to take back one of my snarkies. They actually did air "wonders of the solar system". pouts. GodotGrow a vagina 15:24, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
- (EC) I'm pretty show that MythBusters is the only good show in that genre. Fuckertalk to me :D|see my shit 15:25, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
- I was actually pleasantly surprised with this blog piece that appeared on the Discovery Science homepage that says we shouldn't teach
creationismIntelligent Design alongside evolution. Fidgetertalk to me :D|see my shit 15:28, 2 February 2012 (UTC)- Added that, though i think the wording i used is clumsy. Ok, time to work. I'll add some more shows later, if no one else does.

An anecdote for you all[edit]
So I tuned in and noticed they changed their motto to "question everything." While a commendable idea, I also noticed during every commercial break they air commercials for those types of big businesses that no everyday person would do business with, like Boeing or DOW Chemical. I know that those companies advertising is a sort of bribe to stations not to air anything negative about them. So now I am questioning them. --Alakazam (talk) 21:58, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
The further it exists, the crappier it becomes (at least in Poland)[edit]
I know that quite a lot of time has passed since this article has seen a major revision, however, I think it is good to mention that this channel went to shit (at least in Poland, don't know about the American version). Last time I've watched this channel, every 15 minutes there was a commercial promoting an alien conspiracy document with obvious quackey, sensationalist mood. And nothing else. I really mean it. Besides that? Only programmes like How it's made have really appealed to me (but even they are sometimes heavily oversimplified, with ommissions on some details), the rest is more or less shit. - It doesn't look bad in the US. Not up to rigorous standards, but not bad. With that in mind, make the edits you think are necessary. ikanreed You probably didn't deserve that 20:01, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
