USDT backed by gold

@Bongolian The Tether whitepaper says nothing about gold. They have a bunch of cryptocurrencies, when initially writing this article I really only focused on USDT because it is their most notable one and all the others work the same way anyway, though they do have a gold-backed crypto called Tether Gold (XAUT).

I mean, it does mention gold, but it is unrelated to USDT's backing. It's mentioned referring to people selling crypto to gold and fiat to avoid volatility. Rabbitseatcarrots (talk) 18:31, 26 September 2022 (UTC)

I just remembered, gold is part of USDT's backing. It's grouped together with corporate bonds and funds, together being supposedly 5.25% of the reserves as of June 2022, according to Tether's super useful attestations. Rabbitseatcarrots (talk) 18:38, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
