Talk:Tutankhamun's curse
Could you include a section about the toxic fungi that inhabit Egyptian tombs and are believed by some to have caused the deaths of the archaeologists? MiddleMan
Should there be an article on Akhenaten/Tutankhaten-Tuatankamun and the rise of monotheism? Or Tut and some of the other oddball-stories that have become attached to him (eg http://thewaxconspiracy.com/deep/the-tutankhamun-deception). (My addition to the 'logic against' - Tutankhamun died in his late teens, 1330 BC, 'Rabbi Joshua ben Joseph' (as he would have been referred to at the time) died AD30+ish in his mid 30s, in a completely different country: and 'one of the things everybody knows about Egypt' is that the Pharoahs married their close relatives. By this logic Harold Bluetooth eating a blackberry and apple pie is Jimmy Wales. 171.33.222.26 (talk) 15:24, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
I have come across the 'probably urban myth' that Howard Carter circulated some version of the Tutankhamun's curse story in order to prevent looting of the site.
Category of 'moneymaking doom mongering myths and urban legends' for authors and others (as with the 2012 End of the World Scenario and similar)? Anna Livia (talk) 12:41, 21 March 2018 (UTC)
