Suggest a merge with bestiality? Baljit (talk) 16:35, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

I see it more as vandalism, given our mascot, but whatever. Z-Rex (talk) 16:37, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

Phraseology[edit]

I realize this article may well be snark, but in case it's not...

it discusses the legal status of zoophilia, which is defined as sexual attraction to animals.

Unless I'm missing something, just being attracted to animals is not a crime; it's acting on that attraction that's a crime.

So, let's saw someone (we'll use the purely arbitrary initials ALS) is sexually attracted to wildebeests. (He's repulsed by goats, since he's a well-known conservative, and liberals like goats.) Now, he can fantasize about wildebeests all day long, be a subscriber to PlayBeest, have a paid account at be-wilbebeest.com, etc etc etc. That's all legal. (Well, let's assume for these purposes that porn depicting bestiality is legal. I have no idea, nor do I have any need to find out.)

However, once he goes out and sodomizes a wildebeest, then ol' ALS is going to need his Harvard law degree for his own defense. MDB (talk) 11:58, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

I think it's complicated. ADK...I'll acidify your racket! 12:03, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
(EC) One could potentially argue that zoophilia is the attraction and bestiality is the act.--BobSpring is sprung! 12:04, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
Point-of-information: WP redirects "bestiality" to "zoophilia". From a legal standpoint they are identical terms it appears, much in the same way pedophilia is. I.e., there is no codified distinction between attraction and practice. ADK...I'll hurt your idiot! 12:06, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
