Move to "User Ubuntu"?[edit]
There is more than one Linux distribution... ListenerXTalkerX 11:27, 9 April 2009 (EDT)
- Check with the 2 current users (worm and xena) first. Totnesmartin 11:33, 9 April 2009 (EDT)
- I'm sure there are people who use distributions other than Ubuntu. There are probably people who fling their own feces at each other, too, but I don't think we need keep them in mind when making a userbox. I agree with moving it to "User Ubuntu". Neveruse513 11:35, 9 April 2009 (EDT)
- I have no idea what that means. Bondurant 11:43, 9 April 2009 (EDT)
- I'm equating using a non-ubuntu distribution to throwing around your own feces. There is no good reason to give consideration to non-ubuntu distros. Neveruse513 11:55, 9 April 2009 (EDT)
- Tell me this: Which distribution has a default theme that vastly resembles the aforementioned feces? ListenerXTalkerX 12:01, 9 April 2009 (EDT)
- This is bullshit, I don't have to answer your stupid questions. Neveruse513 12:03, 9 April 2009 (EDT)
- If you dislike answering stupid questions, kindly refrain from making stupid statements. ListenerXTalkerX 12:07, 9 April 2009 (EDT)
- Kindly refrain from being stupid. Checkmate. Neveruse513 12:28, 9 April 2009 (EDT)
- A more proper chess-analogy would be "Stalemate." ListenerXTalkerX 12:34, 9 April 2009 (EDT)
- Yeah, and a more proper linux distribution would be "Ubuntu". I pointed out how unproductive it is to debate this issue with someone who won't even admit that some distributions are superior to others. If the person won't admit that, then they'll never admit, no matter how compelling the evidence is. Honest intellectual dialog and progress grind to a halt. Neveruse513 12:47, 9 April 2009 (EDT)
- Next thing you'll be saying is that no two buildings are the same height, or something. Bondurant 13:49, 9 April 2009 (EDT)

Could those of sufficient prowess make the flavour a parameter? Silver Sloth 11:31, 9 April 2009 (EDT)
- Lol, I didn't realise this template existed. I agree - User Linux should exist for those of us who use other Linux distributions. Bondurant 11:35, 9 April 2009 (EDT)
Tux Guevara is funnier[edit]
That's why I reverted it. Carthage (talk) 03:00, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
- I think that might actually be a reference to one of Microsoft's executives calling Linux "communist" some twenty years ago. Chillpilled (talk) 03:10, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
- REDSREDSREDSREDSREDSREDS!!!!!!
- ahem. All the more reason to keep it! Carthage (talk) 03:13, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
- I had it wrong. I thought it was just Steve Ballmer but apparently Bill Gates said it too. There was this really weird smear campaign against Linux back then. Some Linux fans had some fun with it, thus Tux Guevera. Though it probably would've been funny even without the added history here. Chillpilled (talk) 03:19, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
