Let me be the first to welcome you! Goat is regularly served for lunch, and the Red Telephone must always be answered. Other than that, you are free to move about the building. DogP 13:36, 29 April 2008 (EDT)
90/10[edit]
Huge numbers of CP editors are routinely blocked for such mathematical inaccuracies in the application of the '90/10 Rule'. I and many others have been blocked for 90/10 after one or two posts to Talk pages. Feh. It's the way they are - you know, idiots? DogP 13:44, 29 April 2008 (EDT)
- I guess it also only applies to "recent edits" also. Doctor CBThe Doctor is In 13:47, 29 April 2008 (EDT)
- Well, yes, apparently that is the new condition on the rule - though it was only made up last thursday and there will probably be a new rule invented this afternoon. Basically 'rules' only apply whenever they want them to apply. There are really no fixed rules at all, each sysop basically makes them up as they go along, and the very second you say something that disagrees with their entire world view, you'll get blocked. DogP 14:07, 29 April 2008 (EDT)
- Certain sysops also enforce their own, custom rules, including rules that effectively forbid you from pointing out that sysops violate rules. --Sid 14:45, 29 April 2008 (EDT)

Silly Doctor, sysops at CP don't have to follow rules. ThunderkatzHo! 14:10, 29 April 2008 (EDT)
- Ah, hello there, Doctor CB! Good to see you here!
- On good days, the sysops will admit that the numbers "90" and "10" mean nothing, and that this rule simply exists to get rid of "certain people" (or to intimidate them into working without asking questions). The rest of the time, 90/10 can mean anything. Andy has warned users for violating 90/10 even when their ratios were easily 50/50 or better - with the reasoning that the last x edits were talk.
- Rule of thumb for CP is to make at least four mainspace edits right after each talk edit in order to survive a surface-level scan.
- However, sysops have also applied 90/10 in ways that counted only "high quality" contribs as mainspace edit (and literally everything else as talk). In other words, the only way to survive on CP is to never be 90/10-scanned, and that means that only the parodists and serious nutcases survive on CP. --Sid 14:41, 29 April 2008 (EDT)
- As a tangential observation, I find it somewhat amusing that my Weberian observations of almost a year ago still hold up pretty well. Plus ça change...--AKjeldsenGodspeed! 15:14, 29 April 2008 (EDT)

- You're one of the Trusted Inner Circle on CP. If you WANTED to fight for Truth and Justice there, and get the other sysops to be a bit less obviously tyrannical, you COULD.... but that might be hard work, right? --Gulik 01:24, 30 April 2008 (EDT)

Welcome aboard, Doctor! I've had 90/10 warnings handed to me whenever I got a little too close to making sense on CP, the last time when I took shots at Schafly's abortion-raises-the-risk-of-breast-cancer BS and people started agreeing with me. I loved your parting message to him - you know you've been outclassed in wit and eloquence when the only response you can come up with is deletion. --SpinyNorman 19:15, 30 April 2008 (EDT) (aka DinsdaleP)
Note re. above conversation[edit]
Dr.CB - as a new member, you'll not be aware of the various 'members' here. The poster known currently as SHaB above is one of our more, ahem, controversial friends. Just thought you should know. DogP 15:49, 29 April 2008 (EDT)

A few things...[edit]
1. Thank you for inviting me. (you know who you are:))
2. Is "Learntogether" a parodist?
3. I look forward to helping refute Conservapedia's pseudo medical nonsense
Doctor CBThe Doctor is In 17:51, 29 April 2008 (EDT)
- Welcome! It's nice to have you here, and I especially get a twinge of joy when conservatives join. I think people across the spectrum can agree that CP is batshit crazy.-caius (heckuva job!) 17:57, 29 April 2008 (EDT)
- For sure. Doctor CBThe Doctor is In 17:59, 29 April 2008 (EDT)
- About "Learn Together"... it's hard to be sure, but I suspected him of acting for quite a while. He is turning into an excellent mirror of some of the more notorious sysops, which seems to be a fairly recent trend. If I remember correctly, he had been fairly neutral (read: He looked away whenever the sysops openly pushed the anti-liberal agenda and just blocked wandals or people who made over-the-top comments) before switching into his "You're absolutely right, Andy/Ed/etc!" mode. --Sid 18:13, 29 April 2008 (EDT)

- Hi Doc (that's gonna get confusing, now we have two. Can we just call you Bruce?)!!! 1. Yvw, altho it wasn't I, of course. 2. See Poe's Law - no one knows. 3. Feel free to create such articles, especially awesomely if they are "mainspace worthy" (ie, not cp-centric). Oh, and Welcome to the Dollhouse! human 23:25, 29 April 2008 (EDT)
- You can call me Colin. Thanks for the nice welcome. Even the godless liberals are more friendly than those "conservative Christians" at cp. Doctor CBThe Doctor is In 01:10, 30 April 2008 (EDT)

Al Franken[edit]
Doc, I'm a Brit & wouldn't know the above gent if he fell on me, but it's fairly obvious to me that the reverted edits were intended to be Humorous. We tend to go OTT from time to time on some of these things but we do like taking the piss out of right wing whackiness and I'm sure that's what's intended. ContribsTalk 13:34, 6 May 2008 (EDT)
Outed[edit]
Ok, I wasn't going to say anything other than a few emails to people who needed to know. But I happen to know, from the original source, that you are not the DrCB who posted on Conservapedia. May I also add that your ploy is a very poor imitation of his style and downright insulting. SirChuckBBoom Goes the Dynamite 16:51, 6 May 2008 (EDT)
- Sorry if you feel insulted, SirCB. There was no offense intended. I was going for a poor imitation all along. You are correct, I am not DrCB from conservapedia. Doctor CBThe Doctor is In 16:56, 6 May 2008 (EDT)
