How did you escape Flat-Earthism?[edit]

I wanted to ask you this because I knew it's possible for one to escape religion (being an ex-Christian myself as well), but I didn't think it was possible to escape from Flat-Earthism, as most flat-earthers will simply just rationalize away all of the obvious holes in their backwards beliefs with out-there conspiracy theories. Anyway, congrats on restoring a bit of my faith in humanity. --Goatspeed. Fossil evidence of my evolutionCircularREmail2.gifasoningMy experiments 01:12, 24 January 2019 (UTC)

@CircularReasoning First off, yes, I know the message you sent me was from over a month ago, so I apologize for the late reply. And you are correct, flat Earthers will try to explain any flaws in their model with conspiracy theories, but as I have said, for the Flat Earth theory to be true, we need to assume that billions of people are lying. You see, I actually met this guy online, back in 2016. He managed to convince me into it, and he asked me to debate it for him. To be honest, I don't think he ever gave a **** about me, I think he just thought it was cool that he convinced me. The time period between June 2017 to March 2018, I spent most of it debating for the flat Earth, and then I realized that it is impossible beyond any "explanation". Do you think that that guy was a true believer or that he was just trying to manipulate people? Bongolian (talk) 18:50, 11 March 2019 (UTC)
@Bongolian Both in a way ExChristian (talk) 23:40, 13 March 2019 (UTC)
I don’t see why people insist that the earth is not flat. Over 70% of the earth is covered with water, and almost none of that water is carbonated. --Bertrc (talk) 21:42, 16 November 2022 (UTC)

If you're going to put in a whole new section of text like that,[1] can you at least put in a citation or two? Bongolian (talk) 07:29, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
