Sysoppery

Seeing as how you like making other people delete spam pages for you, I have made you a sysop so that you can delete your own damn spam pages and I can continue to drink beer without interruption. Here's an instruction manual for you. AnarchoGoon Swatting Assflys is how I earn my living 02:26, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Feel the spiritual cosmicality

Well, I wasn't going to add that category myself. But yes. Yes. It is. - David Gerard (talk) 23:28, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

Indeed. I imagine that's what I would see if I ever took illegal drugs. Considering that New Age hippies probably take illegal drugs, it's a perfect fit for the template. --Oniontalk/edits 23:40, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

Locking pages

It is against the rules to do so at the sysop level for a indefinite period of time. Please unlock it. Otherwise, I'll have to unlock it myself. The Spikey Punk I'm punking my punk! 22:09, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

As an addendum, if they re-create it, just keep deleting it. As Trent has said, it's more effort to re-create it on their part than it is to delete it on your part. Punky Your mental puke relief 22:12, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

judicial block lengths, like 1 day at the most! tmtoulouse 22:41, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, I'll unblock them later, infinite is just my reflexes. Besides, there's not option for one day, the highest finite time is 9 hours. --Oniontalk/edits 22:43, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
That's probably plenty for this kind of activity. Thanks for doing the blocks anyway :). tmtoulouse 22:43, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
You can type in "1 day" or quite a few arbitrary lengths of time. Though as Trent notes, 31416 seconds is enough to make the kid reboot his modem - David Gerard (talk) 23:08, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

Article Edit

Christ, that didn't stay long.

I was wondering why you're not fine with the edit but you are fine with the statement 'the conclusion is blindingly obvious because correlation implies causation'. — Unsigned, by: 81.158.152.186 / talk / contribs

Hey

I don't think you're being very rational here, I'm asking a legitimate question. I'm not trying to be confrontational, I just don't understand what's going down with that article. Please see the talk page there for more info if you would like.

Hey, you're welcome :-) . All I really do is copy {{media}} and paste it on every page, its not really that hard, its just a little tedious. Also this boosted my edit count, which I really don't need to care about anymore at this rate. --Oniontalk/edits 03:31, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

Well, I guess I should have saw that one coming! --Oniontalk/edits 23:02, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the welcome

Hey, thanks for the welcome just now!

Since you obviously know more about RationalWiki than I do, and since I have your attention, you could peek at my post to the saloon about whether it would be appropriate to use RationalWiki to organize for the "Rally to Restore Sanity".

Do you have a feel on whether that would be appropriate? Or, who I should ask to try to get permission to do so?

Thanks! --CreedShandor (talk) 20:48, 19 September 2010 (UTC)

This wiki is a mobocracy. If the mob likes your idea, then we can run with it. --Oniontalk/edits 20:53, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
From the looks of it, the community has given it its blessing, so long as you keep it out of the mainspace. This should be an interesting new experience, IMO. And we won't screw up the publicity like CONservapedia did when they got Colbert's attention. Punky Your mental puke relief 01:16, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

Curious...

What was "Elassint's" stroke of genius? Blue (is useful) 03:21, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

Still wondering. :) Blue (is useful) 03:57, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
If you're not Elassint, your edits to their talk page will be rolled back. Actually, they will be. A simple comment under your old log in will of course, make smooth the ravages of disputation. ħumanUser talk:Human 06:20, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

Lumeniki

Is it true that you have journeyed away from this planet and to the planet Lumeniki? The Spikey Punk I'm punking my punk! 23:02, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

It looks like he only made one recent edit there. I certainly hope he hasn't gone to the other side, though. Or should I say the lumenother lumenside. Tetronian you're clueless 23:08, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
I was mostly curious if he agreed with an observation made by one of my bandmates: that Lumeniki seems like it was written by an alien from another planet that's in the process of studying humans on Earth. When my bandmate said that, I was like "Holy fuck! You're right!" The Goonie Punk Can't sleep, clowns will eat me! 23:11, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
That actually makes a lot of sense! Wow. Tetronian you're clueless 23:20, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
That would explain the anal probe ey sent me. ħumanUser talk:Human 23:53, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

There you go, just go to Special:UserRights/Onion and you can bot and unbot yourself. -- Nx / talk 18:27, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
Could whatever you just did for Onion perhaps be a new user group/right, that lets relatively trusted users bot/unbot themselves? ħumanUser talk:Human 06:51, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
It is a new usergroup. -- Nx / talk 06:52, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

It's quite obvious I think. -- Nx / talk 08:03, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
Had you appended the words "called 'Ninja'" to your last post it would have save us both some time. Now we need to document it? ħumanUser talk:Human 08:06, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
Had you looked at the user rights log you would've saved Onion a few orange boxes. -- Nx / talk 08:11, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
And do you mind renaming it something sensible, like "trusted bot" or "botter" or something other than fricking "Ninja"? Sorry for the orange boxes, Onion. ħumanUser talk:Human 08:07, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
MediaWiki:Grouppage-ninja, MediaWiki:Group-ninja, MediaWiki:Group-ninja-member Knock yourself out. -- Nx / talk 08:11, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
Can we move this to my talk page to spare Onion, and tell me what this means? Can I just make pages just like those MW pages and do what you did? Or do I need server access to rename/recreate the group? ħumanUser talk:Human 08:19, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

Category renaming et cetera

I learned this recently from Nx - to force a reprocessing of categories, you can use a dummy edit, viz., clicking "edit" and then "save" without modifying anything. Blue (is useful) 05:53, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

Evowiki

You still interested in evowiki's fate? Tmtoulouse (talk) 21:19, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

Yes, but I haven't heard any updates in what feels like months. Right now I'm trying to backup the site's mainspace, as today is the due date on the sitenotice. --Oniontalk/edits 23:10, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
Actually I have the database, though I do not have the images. I have had some conversation with Joe, the fate of the domain name is unknown, so I have moved forward with evolutionwiki.org. If you still want to help spearhead RWF efforts to preserve/integrate material at evowiki I had some ideas. Tmtoulouse (talk) 23:12, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
If you have any new ideas then lay them on me ASAP, I still think its a great idea to integrate EW's information about creationist claims. Also, can I have "curator" status as well? --Oniontalk/edits 23:55, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
Elassint right? Tmtoulouse (talk) 23:56, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
Yep. --Oniontalk/edits 00:01, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

You should be set, I have replied to you on evolutionwiki, let me know if you cant edit. Tmtoulouse (talk) 02:06, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

Thank you.

Thanks for the help there. Wasn't sure if it was permitted, as the Sysops guide made it out like it was just street addresses, phone numbers etc. Thanks. DalekEXTERMINATE 00:38, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

Revision delete

I see no reason for that Rev delete you performed over at Conservapedia:Andrew Schlafly's greatest insights/ Please explain why you used it. Gooniepunk2010 Oi! Oi! Oi! 01:09, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

The editor was not logged in and wanted their IP address protected. The edits themselves were not removed. Mornin' Goonie! Have a drink... hehe. ħumanUser talk:Human 01:15, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
Okay..... but I thought that our policy was not to delete revisions unless it was removed for legal reasons (I.E: somebody posted Gooniepunk2010's phone number as (555)555-5555), not because somebody wanted their IP address hidden. Unless, of course, the rules were changed. The Spikey Punk I'm punking my punk! 01:18, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
Some people are quite concerned about their IPs for privacy reasons, I think that qualifies as legitimate rationale. Blue (is useful) 01:23, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe we've had this discussion somewhere before, and the decision in the past was that IP's don't count, especially since we have ceiling cat to warn you that you are not logged in and that your IP address will thus be logged. Gooniepunk2010 Oi! Oi! Oi! 01:25, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, we have been around this issue a few times and it has gone both ways more than once. I say decide it on the fly at the discretion of those that care enough to intervene, or not. Tmtoulouse (talk) 01:30, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
Well, since I seem to be the only one who cares this time, I say we'll let it slide this time. In the future, however, I think it best that it be used only for the reasons mentioned in the flight plan. The Spikey Punk I'm punking my punk! 01:34, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
(EC) I don't see the argument that "ceiling cat solves everything." On multiple occasions I have been logged out whilst editing a page, and thus had no way of knowing I wasn't logged in, and accidentally posted my IP. Blue (pester) 01:35, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
Also, we have Debate:RevisionDelete, which was never really resolved. Blue (pester) 01:37, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
