Charles Chilton Moore (1837–1906) was an American atheist who founded The Blue Glass Blade, one of the first newspapers promoting atheism in the country, which he was only able to publish on a sporadic basis due to legal issues. In an age of religious idiocy, he spent time in prison for anti-theism for promoting "free love" in 1899. Moore's grandfather was Barton W. Stone, a prominent figure in the history of Christianity in the United States. To this day, atheists credit Moore as one of the fathers of American atheists and one of the most influential.
He was dubbed "Kentucky's most hated man" for pointing out the hypocrisy and idiocy of religion and the influence it has on society and political issues. Moore also had a thick beard, which kicked God's beard's ass.
