Classical Education is an educational system that differs from traditional models of education. Specifically, it focuses on teaching liberal arts and the history of western culture.[citation needed] Classical education is divided into the "trivium" and "quadrivium." The trivium itself is divided into "Grammar" (K-6 education), "Logic" (6-8th grade education) and Rhetoric (8-12th grade education). The quadrivium is focused on science and mathematics. [1] The teaching of Latin and Greek is central to classical education. [2] Classical education has gained a following among conservative Christians in the form of Classical Christian Education.[3]

Classical Christian Education[edit]

Classical Christian Education is a variant of Classical Education notable for mixing Classical Education and Christian theology.[4] Notably, the GOP and Hillsdale College have been pushing for public school funds to be put towards funding charter schools that use classical Christian education. [5]
