You know how there are Christians that try to look and act hip with the kids today? That’s basically what Hipster Christianity is. In all seriousness, Christians trying to be with the times is not new and it can be considered contrary to how they are supposed to separate themselves from the world, but the modern (as of this moment) hipster nature is just a new trend in the cycle. Pastors try to dress and look like influencers, and the churches would look more like concert halls than a house of worship, with the CCM in order to make God seem cool to the young ones.[1][2][3]
Why though?[edit]
It seems like pastors, especially in America, want to come off as more relatable to the youth today, who’s faith and church membership has declined considerably over each passing generation. Hipster christianity has been criticised for 'a lack of doctrinal depth and hyperpersonalism' [4] and 'blurring the line between marketing and religion'.[5]
