“”So I gave my sermons an urban kick
My rhymes are fly; my beats are sick My crew is big and it keeps getting bigger That's 'cuz Jesus Christ is my nigga. |
—Pastor Jim Colerick[1] |
Rappin' for Jesus[note 1] is a parody song and video of a suited, elderly white pastor named Jim Colerick and his wife, Mary Sue Colerick, rapping about how, among other things, "Jesus Christ is my nigga":
It was uploaded onto YouTube on February 5, 2013, by "Brian Spinney". It is presented as, and commonly believed to be, a low-budget, genuinely cringeworthy music video from a pre-internet era, likely the 1990s. However, it is most likely to be a parody.[2]
