Missionality?[edit]

How is this missional? Yes, I understand there was whitewashing in the live action movie, but how does that justify its own article? What further missionality does this article serve? ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 04:48, 6 January 2020 (UTC)

I think this would be perfect for the funspace.Jeh2ow Damn son! 16:16, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
Not really? It seems like there is a stronger case for mainspace, and that's pretty weak. ikanreed 🐐Bleat at me 19:39, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
I tentatively lend my support toward its continued status as a mainspace article because analyzing and critiquing whitewashing is part of our mission, but I think there are other sites and people that can analyze and critique it far better than we can. Oxyaena Harass 19:59, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
I dunno, I'd say it's grasping at straws to say there's whitewashing in a fucking kids cartoon with magic powers that very lightly brushes on adult themes, when it serves the plot. The fundie reaction to the ending of Korra was even pretty muted because it didn't even air on TV. ikanreed 🐐Bleat at me 20:17, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
so what if there is whitewashing in this flick? we have a whole article about whitewashing in film. whats so special about this case that's warrants its own article? AMassiveGay (talk) 20:23, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
Fans sometimes get so invested as to start to mistake their (enjoyable and high quality in this particular case) pop culture shit for something that actually matters. ikanreed 🐐Bleat at me 20:34, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
As much as I like the show, I don't think an article on it belongs on RW. I wouldn't be against a general article on whitewashing in fiction, though, which could include the relevant part of this one. - LucidFox (talk) 18:43, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
