Fun talk:Firesign Theatre
This might be better labelled "Fun", but I thought the group's parodies of pseudoscience and the occult, as well as their take on the history of the United States might qualify them for an entry in the mainspace. Rational Edperception 14:47, 29 April 2008 (EDT)
The way it is now, the article looks rather plain. Could we add a picture of the Firesign Theater, if only to break up the text? -- Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 15:48, 1 May 2008 (EDT)
- Feel free to liven up the formatting, not my stong point in wiki-land. I'll see if I can get permission for a photo. Rational Edperception 15:53, 1 May 2008 (EDT)
- Think there is anything I can scan off the album covers that we can get away with fairly using? Group photo, maybe? human

- I think they would consider any use of the material equivalent to free advertizing, but I'll see if I can find an email address to send them if you think we should. Rational Edperception 08:42, 2 May 2008 (EDT)
- I agree, broadly, since they aren't well-known these days. But permissions are awesome to have - they might let us use some high-rez stuff, for instance. Shall we just go on a fishing trip and ask for "anything", or shall we pick some things we'd like to have, like one of their group photos from an album cover? Because a group photo would be nice - or two, "then" and "now"...? (Are they all still alive?) human

- Alright, we'll see what we can get. Rational Edperception 22:44, 2 May 2008 (EDT)
- Cool. By the way, I have written a couple of people asking "permission" to use images, on specific pages, and scored 100% so far. I think that 1) they are usually flattered a bit, and 2) think it's really cool that someone actually asked instead of just ripping them off. So, perhaps I should upload a cropped scan of the boys from an LP jacket and then ask if it's ok to use the way we are... and I always offer to insta-delete if they don't say OK. Let's both work on it? IE, you do what you are gonna do, I'll do my thing, and with any luck we will both score. More sugar!
- PS, I actually nicknamed a guy I knew in college George Tirebiter...

delete[edit]
So... why is this here? What's the relevance? I see they sometimes made fun of pseudoscience... so? Most comedians do. it's their job to make fun of stuff. Delete. SophieWilder 11:35, 25 December 2013 (UTC)
