General Maintenance[edit]
The amount of spelling/grammatical errors that I came across while reading this article, and subsequently cleaned up as I saw them, makes me fear that I might be accused of "Kenning it up". Please refrain from judgment on my folly, and good day.
P.S. I can't believe I forgot the timestamp at first! -JabberwockDownTheHole (talk)
Mish[edit]
I didn't realise that {{mission}}
didn't allow for a reason like the deletion template. So I'll copy/paste my reason here: There is no need, on RW, for a huge plot summary. Secondly, shoving half of it in the footnotes renders it unreadable. Thirdly, it seems a little "I'm cooler than all those mainstream kids because I know the REAL original one!!!111"... theist 17:04, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
- RW existed before the mission. This is one of the early nerdy articles that were created before the mission was agreed. Some of those later went to "fun". The only reason for this one I suppose is "historic interest" - but that's a bit lame.--BobSpring is sprung! 17:19, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
- It's only directed at the "plot summary" section, for which the reasons are given above. I think Hitchhiker's is extremely relevant, it just needs more of the stuff like Adam's digs at God. I remember reading one of those "Christian Reviews" about the movie, and it was quite interesting to see their reactions to the blasphemy being taken out, or at least mellowed slightly, for it. theist 17:28, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
- There's no direct need for the plot summary section, but I don't see any harm in keeping it. Like Bob said, it's kind of been grandfathered in. Blue (pester) 20:50, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
- But it's a big pile of, well, fan-wank. ADK...I'll mature your wigwam! 20:55, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
- The idea of the grandfather clause does not readily apply to a page on a Wiki. This article needs a fair amount of trimming. ListenerXTalkerX 21:21, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
- I gotta agree that the "plot summary" part is way too nerdy for mainspace (one supposes one could pull out the stuff and stick it in "fun"... one supposes.... I also agree that juicy RW stuff like Christian views of the book would be lovely. Godot Warning, chocolate will make your clothes shrink 21:40, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
