Fun talk:Vandal site
4Chan? ED? Surely if anything co-ordinated ever happens on the internet, you have to look first at those places. narchist 08:19, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
- haha 4chan is a Terrorist site fo shureWaronstupidity (talk) 08:35, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
- We should have a section on 4chan in this. And anonymous. I don't know enough about them to even get them started though. Anyone? ħuman 20:59, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
- Anonymous would definitely fit the bill, although they work in mysterious ways. They're not so much a vandal site as a vandal emergent entity. narchist 21:00, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
- Also, arguably, slashdot could be one, too, since if one's site is slashdotted it will crash within minutes...? ħuman 02:37, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

this article is.........[edit]
funny but do you think it should be in the *fun:* section?Waronstupidity (talk) 08:35, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
- No. ħuman 09:16, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
- But thank you, glad you licked it. ħuman 09:17, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
- Yes. It's not mainspace material unless you want to expand on what it actually means in some depth, as it's certainly a slur term used by Conservapedia against RW - a topic worth considering looking into. narchist 20:51, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
- See my comment above - and any discussion of "is RW one" should come last, since it's really fairly irrelevant. ħuman 21:00, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
- That discussion should be in RationalWiki space, preferably as an "official" response to the vandal site slur. As it is, this is an essay, not a mainspace article. -- Nx / talk 16:02, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
- Very good suggestion actually. Sorry for not spotting it sooner. The only downside is that by acknowledging the slur, it sort of lends it legitimacy - and people with sense will see past it anyway, while people who believe it won't be convinced regardless. But a thorough, official response is still a useful thing to have just in case it gets banded about on the internet or if the LA Times wants to do a follow-up article (around the time that the Devil has to start wrapping up warm). narchist 11:26, 20 April 2010 (UTC)

Templates[edit]
Perhaps Essay:The Information Warrior's Handbook and Essay:A Parodist's Guide to Villainy need bigger templates to distance them from our present position? Or something more in the intro? Perhaps send Information War to fun or rewrite?--BobSpring is sprung! 14:58, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
- Those disclaimer boxes look fine. Information war would be better off in the trash IMO. ħuman 20:46, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Deletion?[edit]
Nx put the template on about ten days ago but there's been no discussion, so I have restored for now. I say, if this isn't "the article we should have", let's figure out how to make it better. Ideas? ħuman 21:32, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- The discussion was here. More than a week passed with no input, you didn't improve the article and left an Ed Poor stub in mainspace. -- Nx / talk 21:40, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- Delete or moved to fun/CP Non-mission article based CP related neologism. - π 02:57, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
- Ongoing discussion/article improovemints. Maybe CP-based, but huge big giant serious internet big deal maybe. ħuman 09:04, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
- A Google search turns up nothing but stuff about Idaho university, this is not a term used outside of CP's paranoia. - π 10:38, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
- I've added some more text; is it getting any better yet? ħuman 08:33, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
- Getting better, it would be nice with some non-4chan related examples. I read something on Tvropes the other day. - π 01:25, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
- Maybe we could mention when metapedia and RW were at wikiwar? ħuman 01:50, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
- One of the largest was the Ebaumsworld war, where YTMND, FARK, SomethingAwful, and 4chan collectively piled on top of it and brought it down. - π 02:22, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
- Any chance of you remembering enough of that story to add it? And sections on those other sites you mentioned? Please? ħuman 02:31, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
- This is one of those thing ED actually has a good article on. - π 11:21, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
- Well, just done my bit to make it fun-worthy.--BobSpring is sprung! 11:38, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
- This is certainly keepable but maybe not a mainspace classic. Fun? And with maybe a shorter, less fun, version for mainspace? Totnesmartin (talk) 09:18, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
