Talk:Animal Rights Militia

Haven't we got enough of this now? We're not a platform for Animal Rights, however deeply felt. There are websites devoted to the subject, one link to one of them would surely suffice? and marmite 15:07, 20 November 2008 (EST)
- No, if you believe it is not notable enough, you can merge it into Animal rights. --Until every cage is empty 15:17, 20 November 2008 (EST)
- It's not the notability, it is rather the conflict which I see with RationalWiki's mission. ALF comes close to Fundamentalism in some respects. I agree largely with the aims of ALF (and some of its offshoots/allies) but find some of their tactics unsupportable and detrimental to the cause. and marmite 15:22, 20 November 2008 (EST)
- Heh, except that the articles, in this case, are written from the prospective of the fundies. The perspective would have to be reversed to fit the mission, methinks. JazzMan 15:24, 20 November 2008 (EST)
- I'd have to agree. I have a lot of friends involved in the animal rights movement, but they do it through working at an animal rescue and pushing for legislation against animal cruelty. They view the ARM, the ALF, and PETA as fringe lunatics. --Arcan ¡ollǝɥ 15:30, 20 November 2008 (EST)
- It is your definition of fundamentalism. What I am seeing here, per your definition, Marxism will also be a fundamentalism. Until every cage is empty 15:33, 20 November 2008 (EST)
- Yup! and marmite 15:35, 20 November 2008 (EST)
- Pretty much. --מְתֻרְגְּמָן וִיקִי שְׁלֹום!
- Ok, although I am against your viewpoint, feel free to edit the article as you wish. Although I initially created the article from animal rights viewpoint, I am not here to advertise my politics. Feel free to make any change, I will not edit war. I noticed this site lacks articles on animal rights. This is why I created some aricles which are top most in importance regarding the animal rights movement. Until every cage is empty 15:46, 20 November 2008 (EST)

Mission statement doubt[edit]
I agree with the doubt for the article as currently written, but I do think it could fall under the "crank idea" and "fundamentalist" principles if we add some goat. Anyone else? --Arcan ¡ollǝɥ 16:36, 20 November 2008 (EST)
- Please add goat! and marmite 16:38, 20 November 2008 (EST)
- As the goat template is there to indicate that we need to RW-ify it it and that as a crank idea and essentially a fundie, almost terrorist-esque topic, I'll remove the mission statement template. ArmondikoVsshole 18:11, 20 November 2008 (EST)
