Stubbot[edit]

For somereason, teh stubbot likes to play with this page and reduce it to teh #1. Any idea why, gurus?--Waiting for Godot 01:18, 29 July 2008 (EDT)

Stubbot has done that a couple of times, and I have not yet figured out the pattern as to why it is doing it....maybe I should... tmtoulouse oppress 01:19, 29 July 2008 (EDT)
It appears people are bitching that stubbot sometimes tells white lies in its edit summaries about what it is doing...so I will move this onto the to do list to investigate and upgrade. tmtoulouse oppress 01:20, 29 July 2008 (EDT)
It's all rather ....spooky! ... SusanG  ContribsTalk 01:22, 29 July 2008 (EDT)
Yea, I never like it when my programs seem to be doing something that I didn't program them to do. The worst was when one of my neural networks (a form of artificial intelligence) that was suppose to be mimicking an experiment done on people involving risk taking and hand eye coordination started outputting giant concentric circles that looked a lot like crop circles. At that point I decided it was time for bed...it took me a week to get up the courage to go back and figure out what it wanted....of course like all things in life the truth turned out to be far too pedestrian. tmtoulouse oppress 01:29, 29 July 2008 (EDT)
IT'S A GODDAMN CONSPIRACY. I'll get my tinfoil hat. --US-O11 insignia.svg Gen. S.T. Shrink That's what she said. 01:32, 29 July 2008 (EDT)
I'll rootle around, in 1982 a mob of us @ Hull Uni (I was doing an evening class) tried to use fuzzy logic - we'd only BAsic & FORTRAN & something called LOGO(?) on a roomfilling mainframe that we only had remote terminal access to. They stopped us when one of our number (not me) got it to run our prog all day in the background - for a week - apparently we slowed down the Payroll. SusanG  ContribsTalk@~

Not to be a dick[edit]

Not to be a dick, but this article needs serious work. It doesn't touch on the historical aspect of the antichrist (Nero parallels), the biblical basis (silly readings of Daniel and Revelation) nor the two different definitions (spirit of Antichrist, actual Antichrist) or the various idiotic theories evangelicals have advanced (Islam, the Catholic Church, a Romanian).

I haven't figured out any way to edit the current page into a more comprehensive article. Anyone object to me just deleting the whole thing and starting over?

Perhaps create a new one here - User:The Charnel God/sandbox and then put it to the community? Acei9 04:46, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I have to agree that the style of the article is very much a WIP that should be in a sandbox rather than mainspace. Particularly as at least 50% of it is a quote. Scarlet A.pngnarchist 04:50, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
I have made some significant changes. My Greek is too poor to go further on the textual interpretation bit, but I will later add a new section with modern evangelical nonsense about the Antichrist (at which point I will re-add some of the political stuff, with hopefully a bit more funny than the lameness previous).--Tom Moorefiat justitia 06:42, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

19th century prediction[edit]

Forget where I came across this (paraphrasing).

A 'slightly deranged priest' tells the then Pope that the Antichrist has been born.

  • 'How old is the child?'
  • 'Three Your Holiness.'
  • 'Then I will leave the problem to my successor.'

Mentions in Paul's letters?[edit]

Using a text search of the esv and kjv I can find no mentions of the antichrist or antichrists in anything other than 1 and 2 John. Should our page be changed or do they occur in other versions?DarkAngelCryo (talk) 04:47, 2 November 2015 (UTC)

Technically[edit]

John Paul II was Otto von Habsburg's subject (if KuK-land had survived) so the Archduke had to intervene. Anna Livia (talk) 15:55, 20 September 2019 (UTC)
