2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

What[edit]

I think there needs to be a {{What???}} template. --Idiot numbre 188 (talk) 19:47, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

Delete[edit]

Do we do literary criticism? No we don't. Let us delete this. Real first name and last initial (talk) 11:59, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
I would be interested in seeing this expanded just to see where the author was going with this. - π 12:14, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Nowhere, I guess. It has started as a red link in Fun:Andicles Rex.--ZooGuard (talk) 12:22, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

The RW article based on this - 'ways of annoying promoters of woo'/'promoters of pretentious literary criticism' (by subverting their texts)- would also reference the Invisible Pink Unicorn, Last Thursdayism and suchlike. Any ideas for what the page should be? (Playing 'spot the particular example')82.44.143.26 (talk) 17:41, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

I am interested in seeing where this article was headed as well. However, as it stands now, it's an easy delete. Blue (is useful) 05:50, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Would 'the game' fit under 'literary criticism' or similar? Or wherever 'If the reverse of a statement is nonsense, you are being insulted' (nobody advertises stale fruit, old-fashioned clothes etc) goes. 212.85.6.26 (talk) 18:01, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

The size of the image[edit]

Hello I uploaded an image but it unexpectedly was extremly big. Please correct it. Yassine Mehdi (talk) 15:09, 10 August 2023 (UTC)

@Yassine Mehdi Done. And don't write BC (Before Christ). Write BCE (Before the Common Era). Spud (talk) 15:15, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
@Spud What was the problem when I upload the image? And how did you correct it? — Unsigned, by: Yassine Mehdi / talk / contribs
@Yassine Mehdi Look at what I added to make the picture display as a thumbnail:
[[File:Bust of Aristophanes.jpg|right|thumb|165px|He probably looked something like this.]] Spud (talk) 15:45, 10 August 2023 (UTC)

Must we move this to mainspace?[edit]

Anyway, I don't know how to move pages. If anybody knows, and think that it is apropriated, please do it. — Unsigned, by: Yassine Mehdi / talk / contribs

@Yassine Mehdi I've done it for you. Notice there was a previous article on Aristophanes that got deleted back in 2011. I'm afraid I can't guarantee that the same thing won't happen to this one. The range of our content has expanded a bit since then, so you might be lucky. Spud (talk) 13:10, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
