- Clearly intersex people exist. I was not denying that. However, true hermaphrodites are very rare. As for gender, gender is a social construct and in Western society, relatively few governments recognise any kind of "third gender", and social recognition of self-identified non-binary people as non-binary is, I believe, similarly low. There are some exceptions like Facebook, which allows users to enter anything as their gender. But most businesses don't allow that.--Greenrd (talk) 19:22, 9 May 2019 (UTC)

One of the articles you cite as evidence there is more than Two sexes https://www.nature.com/news/sex-redefined-1.16943 its author has clarified that there are only two sexes and that its Sex characteristics that are on a spectrum https://twitter.com/claireainsworth/status/888365994577735680?lang=en — Unsigned, by: 2600:6c64:607f:ffc9:dfa:9ca3:cbc4:f290 / talk / contribs
I wish to replace this first quoted section with the second section.
Lehmann is a proponent of the gender binary, the erroneous belief there are only two genders (male and female), which she bases on her incorrect view that there are only two biological sexes, rather than a spectrum.
