Might be better to link than to give the "current time"? Since it will keep a-changing? How about a graph of it since inception? ħuman 15:47, 8 February 2009 (EST)
The time changes only when the scientists meet, annually, and even then they might not change it We can update when nessecary, and I believe there is a stealable graph in WikipediaThe EmperorKneel before Zod! 20:31, 23 February 2009 (EST)
- Does the debt clock image really fit on here? Especially with no text relating it? They really aren't similar... ħuman 16:23, 11 April 2009 (EDT)
My silly anecdote
This does not contribute to the article but I just find this a bit humours and very stupid so I just wanted to share this. I hope that's ok.
I remember, early this year, I saw an article on Facebook that the doomsday clock will "stay at 11:57". I had no clue what the doomsday clock actually was at the time so I started thinking that the world was ending at 11:57 that day (yes, yes, I'm that stupid). It felt horrible to say the least. I really thought that the world was gonna end in a few hours (I think when I read the article it was like 9 or 10pm), I started sweating, panicking and even crying a bit. I dropped everything I were doing to just research about the clock, what is it, how can it predict that the end is nigh? Furthermore, with me being convinced that I only have a few hours left to live I started regretting all the things I haven't done yet and I even thought about just doing something enjoyable to distract myself from the (in my mind) inevitable death. Thankfully, after deciding to look into the doomsday clock more I realised that the "time till the end of the world" is metaphorical and not literal. Goodness, I felt so relieved that I wasn't going die in a few hours. I also felt pissed off that I got so worked up over nothing. Yes, it was stupid that I thought the world was ending, but for my defence, I will say that the beginning of the news article made it seem like it was the case so I'm blaming myself and the article (but I think it's mostly my fault for I did somehow, last year, convince myself that a zombie apocalypse was bound to happen on Halloween. Yup, I were and still am quite a bit of a goon but hey, since I discovered this wiki my critical thinking skills have thankfully improved). --WMS (talk) 04:58, 16 August 2016 (UTC)
