Talk:Forteanism
From the little that I know of Fort I would hesitate to characterize him as "anti-science". I'd think of him more as as skeptic, demanding proof for claims made in the name of science. In his day, Spiritists were very closely being compared with James Maxwell, who, with his theory of electromagnetism (and the proofs thereof), was being hailed by mediums for their OWN proofs that spooks DO exist. I have his four non-fiction books (and I continue to hunt his novel), so I can add to this article. one thing worth bearing in mind is that he drew a lot of his weird facts not from newspapers, but from science journals and magazines. He called such things "the Damned" because such magazines often declined to publish anomalous explanantions. Totnesmartin 04:53, 5 August 2007 (CDT)

Bronze?[edit]
This is a nice little concise article; it gives a good overview of what this nonsense actually is. I reckon it deserves a bronze brain. DeltaStarSenior SysopSpeciationspeed! 09:55, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
- I think it's a little short for that, but I'm not sure how to extend it. Real first name and last initial (talk) 13:24, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
Fortean Times[edit]
I suppose that we should mention or have an article on the Fortean Times? WP article here. But I don't know a lot about it.--Bob"I think you'll find it's more complicated than that." 18:12, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
Should banner be changed to pseudoscience?[edit]
I've re-read the article a few times and I'm still not understanding a lot of it, so is Foretanism like postmodern skepticism meaning it's pseudo-skepticism? Shouldn't that be under the pseudoscience banner?--WMS (talk) 21:18, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
