Left out[edit]
Probably should be added: 1) the Japanese invasions of Korea (1592–1598), in which the Ming dynasty played a major role in pushing Japanese forces out of Korea and 2) the Japanese taking control of Manchuria from Russia by treaty following Russia's loss in the Russo-Japanese War (1904–1905). The former foreshadowed the latter, and the latter fueled Japan's build up to full-scale war by exploitation of Manchuria's natural resources. Bongolian (talk) 08:52, 9 January 2020 (UTC)
