Talk:Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull
Tomato soup[edit]
The aftermath of the tomato-based response KJK received in NZ is available as a freely-licensed photo if someone wants to write a section covering her transphobic world tour before me. Nope Rocket (talk) 13:45, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
Unsurprising relations with far-right ideology and figures[edit]
I can dump a few points/sources here. She's honestly the most obviously far-right "TERF" I have ever known of other than maybe Jennifer Bilek (who I wonder if Posie's endorsed).
- Has appeared on Tucker Carlson's program at least twice: first, second (later brief praise for Carlson at one of her rallies)
- Had a "Nazi Barbie" avatar on Spinster (which we have no page for, but I did insert some information about it here at some point). Purportedly this was mocking people who called her "Nazi Barbie" so she embraced it; which I suppose makes some sense (see e.g. "Feminazi") but when seen next to the other points here, uh, lol. Archives: her profile, the avatar in wider view, source image with a swastika in view
- Appeared on the white nationalist podcast of Jean-François Gariépy. See here and here. Also mentioned here, which is probably the most robust source; it also mentions that she states she "didn't realize" it was a racist podcast + shows her with the editor of Spiked, Brendan O'Neill (kind of a homophobe, don't know much else of him).
- Stated in 2018 on Twitter that trans men should be sterilized (arguably pro-eugenics talk). The sourcing on this is unfortunately thin, but it's alluded to here for instance. There are screenshots of the relevant tweet(s) out there; it would take some real Waybackmachine-fu to find the original, if it's even archived.
- Something something called for men with guns to enter women's bathrooms. Source one, two. Really seemed more like an insinuation than a direct statement, so this is slippery.
- Sort-of defended Tommy Robinson at one point. This may be relevant.
- Part of Hands Across the Aisle Coalition, at least that's alleged by the tweet given in the above point. SPLC has an article that mentions that group.
There's probably more. I'm convinced she might be a closet Nazi, and not a very well-hidden one if so. Chillpilled (talk) 15:46, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
These screenshots of an old revision of her Wikipedia page look to have more examples: https://twitter.com/chilledsammy/status/1616087008232837120
Looks like the page changed since then. There are often attempts to white-wash such pages, but maybe it's just been reorganized (I haven't gone through it with a fine-tooth comb or anything). Chillpilled (talk) 16:09, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for collecting these sources, BTW. :) Nope Rocket (talk) 09:51, 29 March 2023 (UTC)
- Looks like this is going to be a long article. I'm covering her rallies in chronological order and I haven't even got to the US, Australia, and NZ ones yet. This is proving to be a useful hatrack for covering GC figures who may not be independently notable. Nope Rocket (talk) 17:44, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
Daily Mail's not buying this one (or...?)[edit]
Some excerpts. And the article. Aside from her most frequent targets, Kellie has had some things to say about gay men and Muslims. Of course Glinner made a cameo at this particular rally, in Belfast.
Does the Daily Heil writer realize they're handling a loony here? The commenters, true to form, clearly don't.
Looking backward a little bit, here's a report about her rally's impact in New Zealand. Chillpilled (talk) 05:43, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
Whitewashing[edit]
Keen-Minshull's endorsement of the National Front was not "ambiguous rather than conclusive." The tweet comes directly from KM's personal Twitter account. This is not of case of inaccurate paraphrasing or misquotation. This follow-up tweet by KM is not evidence of a retraction or "inconclusivity." The statement in the article is that she endorsed the National Front (accurate), not that she supported the UK race riots. Endorsing a fascist political party is sufficient to characterise someone as a "fascist." There's also the fact KM has accepted neo-Nazis at her rallies and advocated letting armed men police women's bathrooms. Burnt Toast (talk) 21:10, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
