Formatting (sticky)[edit]

Please use the following format:

Each author gets a Level 2 Heading (two ='s) with the usage "Last Name, First Name". If the work was written by more than one author, either the first author in alphabetical order or the most commonly cited author for the quote should be used. Charles Darwin would be "==Darwin, Charles==". Authors should be arranged in alphabetical order by last name. If the author is an organization instead of a person, use the organization name instead.

Each source of a quote gets a Level 3 Heading (three ='s) under the author section with the the latest full name of the work. Books, movies, and other works of substantial size should be ''italicized''; shorter works, such as poems or pamphlets, should be "quoted". For example, The Origin of Species would be "===''The Origin of Species''===" under "==Darwin, Charles==". Please detail date of first publication and full credits of any other authors directly under the section header, if possible. If possible, include page numbers or chapter titles/numbers, and a link to a public domain resource of the work (or a publicly available version of the source).

Each quote gets a Level 4 Heading (four ='s) under the source section using a short, unique phrase summarizing what the quote is quote mined as. For example, the popular quote mine from The Origin of Species, "To suppose that the eye, with all its inimitable contrivances for adjusting the focus to different distances, for admitting different amounts of light, and for the correction of spherical and chromatic aberration, could have been formed by natural selection, seems, I freely confess, absurd in the highest possible degree," would be "====The Eye and Natural Selection====" under "===''The Origin of Species''===" under "==Darwin, Charles==".

Each quote gets a {{sbs}}. The quote mine should be pasted and the source of the quote mine should be referenced in the left column. In the right column the full context of the work should be included. In both, the quote mined words underlined so readers can easily see what's not included in the quote mine.

For an example, see here.

This is starting to look pretty nice.[edit]

Quote mine waiting to happen[edit]

Creationism is normally regarded as being in complete opposition to evolutionary science, and that is certainly true if we restrict attention to natural biology (Cornish-Bowden et al., 2014). However, Leroy Cronin pointed out in his presentation that synthetic chemistry is a creationist science: chemists envisage the molecules they want to create and then design them on the basis of chemical principles, an approach completely different from natural selection. He is exploring the possibility of inorganic systems that can evolve and provide insight into the prebiotic evolution that predated the world of nucleic acids (Cronin, 2013).
