Talk:Mary Celeste
Damn, now all i can think of (or sing in my head) is "the wreck of teh Edmond fitzgerrald" since it's the only other boat sinking event i know of. well, titanic, but i'd blow my brains off if i had Celine Dion in my head... so I'll suffer with Edmond.--En attendant Godot 16:03, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
- Gill Bowman has a song about the sinking of the Dasher in Scotland. Now you know of one more. --Danfly (talk) 16:09, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
- @ Godot. When is was in Eire in the 1980s, I saw Christy Moore sing this song, which is set to the same tune as the Lightfoot song. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Also, I FUCKING LOVE GORDON LIGHTFOOT. As a Canadian, it's required of us, but that's okay. P-FosterThe French Revolution was neither French nor a Revolution. Discuss.

- Harry Chapin did a song called "Dance Band on the Titanic", and I could swear he did another song about a different shipwreck. MDB (talk) 16:37, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
- My biggest problem is i don't know any of the rest of the song, by LIghtfoot. Just "the wreck of the Edmond..." Though i understand in its fullest verion, it's one of the longer songs in "pop" music?--

A possible theory.[edit]
Since the more credible reports note the ship as having taken water damage could it not be possible that the crew abandoned ship due to the cargo during a storm? My apologies if my inquiry comes across as odd, but I do enjoy puzzles such as this one. GrammarCommie (talk) 21:42, 17 December 2017 (UTC)

Benjamin Briggs, THE KING OF LIIIIIIMBO![edit]
Oh, hey, the Mary Celeste is the ship that a certain Benjamin Briggs captained. I think some references to a certain infamous "video game" and a certain LPer's descent into madness could be slipped in here. (I'm actually a huge fan of The Dark Id's work in general.) --Luigifan18 (talk) 04:32, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
