Talk:Sayyid Qutb

uhh, Qutb was NOT a marxist or even a leftist by any stretch of the imagination. i think you all have some right wingers with a bone to pick here.

allow me to quote the man himself: "It is necessary for the new leadership to preserve and develop the material fruits of the creative genius of Europe, and also to provide mankind with such high ideals and values as have so far remained undiscovered by mankind, and which will also acquaint humanity with a way of life which is harmonious with human nature, which is positive and constructive, and which is practicable. Democracy in the West has become infertile to such an extent that it is borrowing from the systems of the Eastern bloc, especially in the economic system, under the name of socialism. It is the same with the Eastern bloc. Its social theories, foremost among which is Marxism, in the beginning attracted not only a large number of people from the East but also from the West, as it was a way of life based on a creed. But now Marxism is defeated on the plane of thought, and if it is stated that not a single nation in the world is truly Marxist, it will not be an exaggeration. On the whole this theory conflicts with man's nature and its needs. This ideology prospers only in a degenerate society or in a society which has become cowed as a result of some form of prolonged dictatorship. But now, even under these circumstances, its materialistic economic system is failing, although this was the only foundation on which its structure was based. Russia, which is the leader of the communist countries, is itself suffering from shortages of food. Although during the times of the Tsars Russia used to produce surplus food, it now has to import food from abroad and has to sell its reserves of gold for this purpose. The main reason for this is the failure of the system of collective farming, or, one can say, the failure of a system which is against human nature." (talk) 09:01, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

21st century[edit]

It looks like we've come full circle. Eygpt is moving toward Russia as in the 1950s (at the time of the building of the Aswan Dam)Wikipedia. Qutb was rounded up and executed by the atheistic Nassar regime at the best of the secular godless Russians. This had immense consequences for West although it was seen at the time as an action by its enemies. Ultimately the West got blamed for secularization and godlessness and all the economic ills of the world which only restoration of the Caliph could heal. nobs 09:00, 8 January 2017 (UTC)

Something Missing[edit]

Muslim here, there is something major missing here. The fact that, he was a pathological liar, and that he was a general racist as well. His character should be noted here, as it does show the kind of people the deviants follow. --2600:1700:730:D810:B184:B822:3E73:B27D (talk) 19:50, 22 December 2017 (UTC)

It seems like the article already discusses what kind of slimebag he is already though? Can you elaborate? --It's-a me, Lgm sigpic.png LeftyGreenMario!(Mod) 19:56, 22 December 2017 (UTC)
Yes! I forgot about this. One example of the pathological lying is when he wrote in his book how Americans celebrated when Hassan al-Bana was killed. The fact is, barely any Americans would have known who this guy is. He also made comments about how Greeley was so provactive and filled with sex.Greeley was founded as a dry town, and is still fairly conservative today. Not to mention, the US was more conservative on sex then than say, France. In regards to the racism, he made some pretty awful comments about how barbarous African Americans, especially in regards to music. --2600:1700:730:D810:6020:CC40:4586:EE9B (talk) 16:30, 25 June 2018 (UTC)
