2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

Wow, managed to write the entire article without resorting to cheap jibes about "at least you can see who won't put out" or the effectiveness of being a bit of a minger when it comes to abstenance...! Trashbat 09:34, 22 June 2007 (CDT)

Edited to remove my usual snarky commentary seeing as how it's a mainspace article. Rather pleased with the outcome of the UK court case too. prettydilettantelies 09:23, 17 July 2007 (CDT)

WP:Cock ring[edit]

Why are we linking to this Wikipedia article & disguising it as an internal link? If a reader doesn't know what a cock ring is and can't figure it out from the component words, we have it covered it in our sex toys article. ΨΣΔξΣΓΩΙÐWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 20:17, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

So as to randomly *SPROING* a shiny erect penis on the casual reader, of course! - David Gerard (talk) 20:18, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Silver Ring Thing's Rebranding[edit]

Evidently, Silver Ring Thing rebranded to Unaltered Ministries in 2019. They're pretty open about that part of their past, and it doesn't seem like they do purity rings anymore. I think this might necessitate major changes. The article might need to be rewritten in past tense to reflect the changes. Potentially, since this article is currently a redirect from "Purity ring", it might be broadened to include all/multiple purity ring organizations, past and present. Alternatively, we could just do what Wikipedia has right now for their purity ring article and just mention somewhere they've renamed and continue using the old name.
