Resurrecting this template[edit]
Given the rise of fake news and our article on fake news, I think this template could be handy -- if not just to pull the fake news articles together. I expanded the description a bit at User:FuzzyCatPotato/Badsource: User:FuzzyCatPotato/Badsource
The key here is that this template must be used sparingly, unlike before. Essentially: the page should only have {{bs}}
if it could fit as an entry on Fake news. FᴜᴢᴢʏCᴀᴛPᴏᴛᴀᴛᴏ, Esϙᴜɪʀᴇ (talk/stalk) 21:19, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
But I hate this thing[edit]
Fuzzy, dude. Let's not. Reverend Black Percy (talk) 01:50, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
- HEED MY POINTS: 1. Poor File:Icon bullshit.svg was seeing no use. 2: If done well, it might be a cutesy (gag) way to show readers that a source isn't just stupid, it's wholly uncredible. Sir ℱ℧ℤℤϒℂᗩℑᑭƠℑᗩℑƠ (talk/stalk) 01:55, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
- I oppose to the template because:
- I can see this template being misused
- It's a very quick and dirty way of summarizing articles. I think reading an article does better justice than a quick blurb box.
- This template can easily be replaced with a category.
- It gives into the fake news fad.
- If a media outlet has a rational wiki article, it's safe to assume the media outlet is most likely bullshit.
- There's really not a good reason to have this template.

- As for your first point, the statement that the image was "seeing no use" is completely false. If you checked the image's page, you'll see that it's used in category pages including the bullshit one. The image has seen use, thus making your first point invalid.
Also, I'm assuming you resurrected this template because this is the last day before you may be potentially be voted out, therefore, you added a major wiki template when you still had that precious mod power.—€h33s3βurg3rF@€3 (talk • stalk) 03:15, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

- Mod power to do... What? Mʀ. Wʜɪsᴋᴇʀs, Esϙᴜɪʀᴇ (talk/stalk) 13:13, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
- @CheeseburgerFace Well written points — save for the odd conspiracy theory attached at the very end (!?). I'm assuming that was a joke, lol. Reverend Black Percy (talk) 13:22, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
- I think that nonsense was a of sleep deprivation. Same goes for that other asshatery. Something to keep in mind for the future. In other words, I'll admit when I spout bullshit.—€h33s3βurg3rF@€3 (talk • stalk) 17:20, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

- This template remains a terrible and simplistic idea that is custom-made for overuse and abuse - David Gerard (talk) 11:19, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
- Ugh, yeah. Morning FCP no longer likes the template. Thanks for the reasonable criticisms, all. Fuzzy "Cat" Potato, Jr. (talk/stalk) 13:13, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
