Template talk:Talkpage

Don't know if anything like this had already been planned but I thought I'd make a start on something like this as it would be useful, so we'll see how it goes. Feel free to change the wording, colours etc. --Stevo 10:06, 21 June 2007 (CDT)

This is very cool! --jtltalk 16:17, 21 June 2007 (CDT)
Cool well I've just put it on the main page talkpage and I'll put it on the articles with vandalism now. --Stevo 16:34, 21 June 2007 (CDT)
If there's demand for it a {{archivelinks}} sub template could be created that just provided the links to archives, and then people could integrate it into their talk pages however they wanted --Stevo 17:10, 21 June 2007 (CDT)

Nice work, but a bit tightly defined for me! Oops. Can the archive one look for anything that starts Archive or archive; and any chance of allowing user input on the wandalism one? because that's how I spelled it... I guess I can move it (whine). humanbe in 00:05, 22 June 2007 (CDT)

Sorry, I was asleep; this template wasn't really designed for user talk pages, but I have met your needs! I also took the liberty of moving your pages back and changing the template on your page for you :) For the archive links, there's also the {{archivelinks}} template which just provides the links, and is more customisable. --Stevo 04:38, 22 June 2007 (CDT)
Cool, I saw that. So, one further minor (hopefully) request? Can you put the archive and vandalism boxes on the same line so they eat up less screen acreage?
Yeah, I'd wondered about that. There you go --Stevo (talk) 13:24, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
Sweet, thanks! humanbe in 13:28, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
Are they ok that way round or would you prefer them the other way around? --Stevo (talk) 13:51, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
I like the order as it is. "archives" is more "corner like", while "vandalism" is more like a header, to my mind, so when they are both present, that's how they appear. humanbe in 14:35, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
Very nice work! ɧєɭıסş-get sunburn! 04:14, 2 July 2007 (CDT)

Problem?[edit]

This: "vandalpath=wandalism" doesn't work on my talk page. The link is still to /vandalism, which is a redirect I'd like to delete. Any help? humanbe in 15:26, 9 July 2007 (CDT)

Wow, nevermind, I found it and fixed it! Me smaht! humanbe in 15:30, 9 July 2007 (CDT)
Everyone's always saying how smart you are, and how great your personality is, and that you make your own clothes. --jtltalk 15:56, 9 July 2007 (CDT)
Well doggonit then, I must be good enough! humanbe in 16:09, 9 July 2007 (CDT)

more than ten?[edit]

I think I'm one archive away from finding out if this thing supports double digits. humanUser talk:Human 17:17, 1 November 2007 (EDT)

Brackets[edit]

There's a visible pair of brackets just hanging out there wherever this template displays. I'm afraid to mess up the coding by trying to fix it myself, so could someone else fix it? --Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 05:49, 9 January 2008 (EST)

My change seems to have fixed it. --Edgerunner76 11:11, 9 January 2008 (EST)

Red links[edit]

This template's making some red-links somehow. For example RationalWiki talk:Community Page/ is listed. Anyone know how to fix??? Sterilexx 16:25, 11 February 2008 (EST)

version for non-talk pages[edit]

We should make a copy of this with slightly different wording for "project pages". ħumanUser talk:Human 19:25, 9 October 2008 (EDT)

Red links, part 2[edit]

The ifexist parser function creates redlinks, see https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12019 I changed it to use dpl, which doesn't do that. --  Nx/talk  14:25, 12 March 2009 (EDT)

Pinto's5150[edit]

There seems to be a problem with this template at User talk:Pinto's5150: the list of archives isn't displayed. Does anybody know why? larronsicut fur in nocte 11:54, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Broken[edit]

This template is broken, see my page or any other as an example: The create new archive button links to User talk:Onion/4 instead of User talk:Onion/Archive2 like it should. --Onion <talk> 23:19, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
