Re: You might like this[edit]
Hahahaha, love it! I've uploaded the speechtool graphic as well so might have a go at making something similar. Trashbat 08:53, 23 May 2007 (CDT)
Again, I really like it - I wish I was able to create userboxes like that. Trashbat 18:08, 23 May 2007 (CDT)

Physics[edit]
I think I even was the one who brought that up at CP, I didn't think the physics behind it was that difficult (binding energies and rest-masses of neutrons, etc...), but I'm only a freshman, taking an introductory course in QM right now, so maybe you know a little more about it. The only other physics related stuff I did one CP were my refutation of the Second Law of Thermodynamics argument and something about the starlight problem (I think I said that parallax measurements prove the universe is older than 6000 years and they're so simple they can't be refuted.)
But yeah, I'll do my best, just tell me when you're gonna write an article. MiddleMan
Re:Neal Stephenson[edit]
The Cryptonomicon beats several shades of r0x0r5 out of the Diamond Age, as does (to a somewhat lesser extent) the Baroque Cycle. A fairer comparison would be with Snow Crash; I've always preferred the latter because Stephenson's naturally sardonic tone and social commentary can come out better in an analysis of society that's closer to our own. Also, I preferred Hiro and the Librarian's chats, interposed with bursts from Reason, more than the trippy drummer encounters, but that's just personal taste. --ויִכִּ נתֶּרֶפּרֶתֵּר שְׁלֹום!
- Snowcrash ideas ... I don't know, I think some of the stuff in Cryptonomicon, about information theory et. al. is quite good. By the way, your new sig is made of awesome and win. --ויִכִּ נתֶּרֶפּרֶתֵּר שְׁלֹום!
- Aah! It changed! As for the gradient effect - it literally is that. I made a gradient of these colours in Photoshop, and then sampled the hex colour at regular intervals. --ויִכִּ נתֶּרֶפּרֶתֵּר שְׁלֹום!
- Ive only read Cryptonomicon, and it was a work of genius.--PalMD-yada yada 12:52, 19 June 2007 (CDT)

Bert[edit]
Bert Jansch fan? Kudos to you! liessmokemirrors 08:11, 5 July 2007 (CDT)
I really love his first album, (the) rawness (of it is good). I'm gradually learning how to play them too (*beats chest*)! ДιЯɖі$ɧ ɥοםЄʟβЯƏакĐΩωΝ 10:11, 5 July 2007 (CDT)
Hurrah! I remember seeing him playing in a tiny venue about 14 years back (tiny as in I could reach over and poke him), totally mesmeric watching him do his thing. It's fun stuff to learn too *fondly remembers learning Angie many years ago* liessmokemirrors 10:24, 5 July 2007 (CDT)
Yeh I've seen him twice (once supporting alison moyet where no one apart from me was interested - i left before alison moyet came on). He's great. He had a picnic hamper thing with all his guitar stuff (EQ, tuner etc) in it. Very.. folky. Haven't checked out the pentangle stuff yet, planning on having a listen soon. Is it good do you know? ДιЯɖі$ɧ ɥοםЄʟβЯƏакĐΩωΝ 11:01, 5 July 2007 (CDT)
Pentangle are superb, nice medieval feel to some of the music and some lovely guitar work by Bert and John. Here's a youtube link to Hunting Song, one of my favourites. liessmokemirrors 11:08, 5 July 2007 (CDT)
- That was pretty cool. I've some tomahawk and white stripes to listen to and some tuss and dylan and cohen and joanna newsom on the way, but once they're done with i think i'll be dipping into pentangle! ДιЯɖі$ɧɥοםЄʟβЯƏакĐΩωΝ 11:27, 5 July 2007 (CDT)
