For unbanning a user proudly trumpeting the fact that they’re a sock of that troll we can’t remember[edit]

Jumping Humpback whale.jpg

Smash!

You've been squished by a whale!
Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know you did something really silly.

If you had remembered this similarly-named sock of a certain banned Conservapedian troll, you would’ve seen that UncleScr00ge was, in fact, either a sock of LT or an impersonation of him. In the past week there have been a couple of similarly badly-disguised accounts also proudly trumpeting the fact that they were this banned user. --Goatspeed. Fossil evidence of my evolution🇺🇸CircularREmail2.gifasoning🇺🇸🇺🇸-->See my latest prototypes 07:39, 24 December 2023 (UTC)

Oh that I certainly understand my dearest Circular, I'm merely wondering what the point of perma blocking them is? Have they edited the mainspace, anyone's talkpage, or commited any sort of vandalism? Cause if they haven't you are merely giving them the attention they seek. Also: "either a sock of LT or an impersonation of him"... so, you DON'T actually know it was him evading the ban? Or who it was at all? Cause an infinity block with talkpage access revoked should, in my opinion, be reserved for only the most psycho of psycho trolls.
And a silly username in Recent Changes ain't enough for me to swing my banhammer. (I ain't your boss though, obviously. You do you, my brother. I'm just saying that I'd rather be wrong about these things than become too trigger happy, ya know?) Also, what if I'm a kinky bastard and I LIKE being slapped with aquatic creatures? Ever think of that? - Rairyu75 (Talk) 07:50, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
Whales aren't aquatic, they're marine. Get your water terminology straight, please. :p --Luigifan18 (talk) 04:47, 15 February 2024 (UTC)

Young starlets (pointless poll)[edit]

I take it you're not a fan of any of those musicians?

  1. Avril is kinda old news and doesn't belong on the list. She had one hit song, did a bunch of faux punk-rock, then kinda disappeared. But that's pop music for you.
  2. I like Olivia Rodrigo's work. Yeah, it's not particularly deep, and it's derivative of angry 90s alt-rock, but that's what pop aimed at teenagers always was. Plus, I like Jealousy Jealousy
  3. Miley is weird. I never watched Hannah Montana, her music is tolerable, some of it is actually good, but the over-sexualization is just gross at this point and I honestly think there is something extremely wrong with her head.
  4. Billie Eilish is overrated. Yeah yeah, I'm just old and don't like new things, but her music is minimalist to the point of laziness. CorruptUser 15:30, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
@CorruptUser I actually have three of the four on my playlist! (Note to self, add Avril Lavigne to playlist later).
  1. Yeah, fair, but I had a big crush on her when I was young. Still kinda do, to be honest. But I agree, the whole "I'm so edgy and different from these Britney Spears types" was very manufactured and inauthentic. Still, bangin' tunes! (Also, ONE hit song? Bruh, "Sk8er Boy", "Complicated", "I'm with You"? That's weapons grade early 2000s nostalgia!)
  2. I do too, "Driver's License" is a really nice song, but I was shocked to find out how young she was. Like, all these songs about crippling heartbreak coming from... whatever she was, like 17? Like, come here girl, you're young, I'm sure the guy wasn't THAT one in a million type. So yeah, really good voice, but I suspect someone a lot older than her wrote those songs with themes she hasn't herself experienced (I could be wrong though).
  3. Miley Cyrus has a fantastic voice, genuine musical skill and is also very beautiful. I will never understand, till the day I die, why she did all those stupid fucking publicity stunts. There was just no need whatsoever. Have you heard her cover of "Jolene"? Motherfu... all that fame, skill and beauty wasted, eaten up by the tabloids and the endless need for algorithmic social media engagement.
  4. Maybe it's because I'm kinda young and not super into music, but the first time I heard "when the party's over" I was blown away by her voice. I was like, nah, there must be some computer assistance there, a bit of studio magic or something. But then I saw an interview of her and she just impromptu, off the cuff hit those high notes... older and more musically inclined folk than me can probably rattle off an endless stream of singers with superior voices, but I think she is unreal. I get what you mean about the laziness though. If you've heard one of her songs, you've probably heard them all.
Anyhow, I picked them cause Cosmik has a really good, old school taste in music, and I suspect he doesn't much care for this type of angsty teenage girl stuff. And neither should you and I, for that matter, we are grown ass men! Now let us speak of this no more, lest we suddenly find ourselves in our local Starbucks and, like, totally talk about those cute boys we like cause, like, just, OH MY GOD really?! That's like, so unfair, why would he even do that to you, and... - Rairyu75 (Talk) 03:59, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
Sk8r Boi was a silly song. There I said it. But I'm With You was indeed a banger.
Not a fan of Driver's License; she had a lot of good songs on that album but for some reason she chose that to be the lead single. At least she made Good 4 U another single. As for her heartbreak, I forget his name but he dumped her for Sabrina Carpenter, thus the feud. And while 17, kids are stupid and emotional and yeah she's going to obsess over some douchebag teenage drama.
Miley, beautiful? She's cute but not drop-dead gorgeous; if she had to rely on her looks alone she'd fail, but thankfully she can sing and compose too. Plus, name-recognition from her show.
Not much more needs to be said about Billie. So instead, I'll rant about a girl-band; Hey Violet. They have some good songs, such as "O.D.D.", but their main hit was "Boys My Age". It's a catchy song, but I hate the message; boys their age aren't experienced enough in bed so they only date older men. Holy shit, did Dr Luke, Syphilis and Date-Rape write that song?! Plus, half the fun of fooling around with boys your age is for both of you to learn!
Also, I don't think zoomers hang around in Starbucks these days. You're showing your age, grandpa! CorruptUser 05:17, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
@CorruptUser
Sk8r Boi was a silly song. There I said it.
Occasionally, words fail us. So blinded are we by rage that we become incomprehensible. It is then that we must turn to the wisdom of our ancestors, so that we can quote them in an attempt to convey our ideas. So I will now let the philosopher Nate Diaz do the talking:

Ow, my head[edit]

Just citing "word salad" as the block reason for that BoN would have sufficed. Reading that vandalism made my head hurt. --Luigifan18 (talk) 00:10, 4 April 2024 (UTC)

Desantis[edit]

The reason I removed him from the para fascist section was because he’s categorized as a fascist after all his authoritarian tactics and his nazi campaign ad (which was the final straw). Rational Dude (talk) 00:00, 14 April 2024 (UTC)

@Rational Dude I thank you for engaging with me, Rational Dude. Most never do.
I see that him being in the Fascists category is due to a drive-by BoN, well over a year ago. Which I find humorous, because for the next couple of weeks this meant that he was simultaneously in the Fascist category AND the Para-Fascist Category. Like a Schrodinger's Fash, or something. The BoN gave no justification as to why they chucked this c@nt into the full on Fash bin without removing them from the borderline-Fash bin. If there was a single incident last February which unequivocally proved that the bastard has finally crossed the line the BoN sure as shit didn't show it within the main body of the text. I often think that the cats we have on articles are kinda crap; they do little to improve the articles or the navigability of this site and the people who add them seem very opinionated (which is fine, we all are on this website) but also too lazy to edit the articles to support the presence of the cats they add (which is not fine, but everyone still f@cking does it... fml). Using the "x is categorized as y on RationalWiki" seems like a bad criteria; this website is ad-hoc and inconsistent at the best of times and the cats are not there due to community consensus or backed up by references. They are there because somebody chucks them in there and if everyone was too busy to notice it sticks around for aeons. You and I having a discussion like this is a f@cking anomaly.
Now, for the Nazi campaign ad, do you mean this incident?
This is indeed pretty fashy, save for the fact that he fired the guy in question... and why would an actual fash do that? I thought you meant he had some sort of billboard campaign with full-on Nazi rhetoric, not "edgy alt-right twitter video was made by a random staffer of his who then got fired for the incident." If he leaned into it, retweeted it himself and then called everyone who disliked it a snowflake I'd be like, "yeah, that's a Nazi right there." But that fact that he then fired the guy? Don't know man. Just don't see it. (If he had something more official and more Nazi in terms of advertising DO let me know cause Google is only giving me this article.)
Don't get me wrong Rational Dude, I think Ron DeSantis is as awful, shitty human being who should be bombarded with big heaping piles of horse manure. And he DOES ride the line pretty hard, no doubt about it. But to say that he's crossed it? Nah. Not just yet. At least not for me. I would not be surprise if one day he DOES cross it. But for now I would be opposed to the label.
No one elected me to be the editor in chief, however. If you wish to undo my edit believing that he has crossed the line, I will be at peace. I'm just an editor here like you. I don't think my subjective opinion is better than yours and I won't start an edit war with ya.
Take care lad. - Rairyu75 (Talk) 07:45, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
No problem, thanks for listening. I just wanted to give my reason for why desantis is a fascist at this point. Rational Dude (talk) 11:57, 14 April 2024 (UTC)

Fuck I didn’t do that edit[edit]

Did someone guess my password? Maybe I just did that on accident? But I did not 8ntend that edit… New world (talk) 03:20, 21 April 2024 (UTC)

@New world It's very common. I did it too, once (to someone's User page, no less.) You will see experienced users do it all the time. So I don't think anyone was messing with your account (but if it will give you peace of mind, you can change your password, just in case). I've been told it's more common among our user who use a smartphone? Something about the touch screen being a bit dodgy, making it easier to misclick on things. - Rairyu75 (Talk) 03:28, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
Im still going to chance my password, since I wasn‘t even reading that article, let alone editing its Talk Page. New world (talk) 06:17, 21 April 2024 (UTC)

Question[edit]

Forgive me for asking, but why do you have fascists in your category? Rational Dude (talk) 00:23, 22 May 2024 (UTC)

I think it was because you added the category by mistake when you linked it, I have removed it if that’s alright with you. Rational Dude (talk) 02:28, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
