Hi.[edit]
Someone thought you should be a sysop, probably because she thought you were going to do more than fix one missing bracket and then make a bunch of sniping comments. How about a little more of the former and less of the latter until you've been here long enough to actually get sniped at yourself? Thanks, Father Vivian O'Blivion (talk) 15:44, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
- I'll behave, but if someone throws an elbow, I'm not Christian enough to turn the other cheek. I had been logged in for the sole purposes of gnoming until the drama distracted me. You may want to remember that Psy threw the first punch.Mongoose (talk) 15:47, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
- I actually didn't see him throw any punches at you. And you don't have to be a Christian to turn the other cheek. Contrary to what some people might think, Christians don't hold any sort of monopoly on peace, love or understanding. Father Vivian O'Blivion (talk) 15:50, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
- I know. I was just going with the whole Father theme. Since I have picked up a newspaper at some point in the last four decades, I know Christians sometimes have the tendency to kill others, including (or especially) other Christians. I have to question his motives for jumping on someone who was sysop'd because of a vendetta he has against the person who did so. Come to think of it, given my knowledge of his pattern of behavior, I have to question his motives for anything he does.Mongoose (talk) 15:54, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
- You see, talking about "vendettas" and "knowledge of patterns of behavior" and "questioning motives" after only being here for a few hours instead of, say, "good point, I'll go do some productive work" reads to me like someone who has limited interest in de-escalating the situation. Do with that what you will, I've said all I have to say on this particualr teapot tempest. Father Vivian O'Blivion (talk) 15:57, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
- You misunderstand. I have limited interest in this situation in general. Besides, it's pretty much over. It's been to the Chicken Coop, been resolved, to people's satisfaction (mostly), and at this point, the only thing of interest is US v. Germany in the World Cup.Mongoose (talk) 16:01, 26 June 2014 (UTC)

Your signature.[edit]
Do you think that having a signature that makes an accusation about another user, one that someone who is not intimately familiar with stuff that happened God-knows-how-long ago would have no context for, makes the community more functional and peaceful, or less functional and peaceful? Father Vivian O'Blivion (talk) 16:33, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
- It was within the last two to four days, and he dox'd Laurelai. I have no tolerance for that type of behaviour, and I'm about as forgiving as she is.Raysenn: questions other's integrity, doxes people. (talk) 16:05, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
- I think it's a problematic way to deal with an issue, especially considering that it's not you he did anything to. But you are an adult and thus have a general concept of how you think an adult should behave, so I'll leave it at that. Father Vivian O'Blivion talk 17:19, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
- I don't think it's acceptable. It looks like you're signing as Raysenn. ωεαşεζøίɗMethinks it is a Weasel 23:53, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
- It's a form of doppleganger, which is against the rules. Albeit a trolling doppleganger, but against the rules nonetheless. In my opinion, it is similar in to username vandals who create trolling user names like "User:X is a horrible goat person" and other such. Bottom line is that even if it follows the letter of the law around here, it certainly is a breach of its spirit. I'm surprised nobody has changed the sig by fiat. - If Laurelai had adopted another user name and Raysenn had exposed that, then that would have been doxing. The fact that she registered with the same ID that she uses publicly elsewhere - like David Gerard or myself do - is not doxing. ГенгисIs the Pope a Catholic? 09:00, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- Fair points, and I'll remember them going forward. I've already changed the sig.Cheapening a culture and making it a fetish is creepy. (talk) 15:27, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
