But we're not sure
Who's asking?

John Thomas Sladek (December 15, 1937–March 10, 2000) was an American science fiction author, known for his satirical and surreal novels. He was also a prominent materialist and skeptic who devoted time to debunking pseudoscience, occult beliefs and conspiracy theories.

His book The New Apocrypha (1974) is an excellent demolition of the pseudoscience being peddled at the time. It's probably on eBay and worth a punt.
