RationalWiki's 2018 Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff — we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

If everyone seeing this today donates $5, we will meet our goal for 2018.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $20 or whatever you can today with PayPal Logo.png!

American Liberty University (Not to be confused with the Fundie school Liberty University) is a crank school in Newport Beach, California that teaches Alternative medicine. ALU is recognized by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education as a university and is unaccredited. ALU is recognized by the American Dental Association, the Board of Chiropractic Examiners and the Quality International Study Abroad Network as a continuing education institute [1].

See the main article on this topic: Academic accreditation

American Liberty University is unaccredited and in most states, their degrees are inadequate for someone to be licensed in most of the fields the school offers [2].

ALU offers "degrees" in Acupuncture/Oriental Medicine and Business Administration.

Oriental Medicine

  • Doctor of Philosophy in Acupuncture (PhD)
  • Diploma in Acupuncture (For Licensed Medical Doctor's only)

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A)
  • Master of Business Administration (M.B.A)
  • Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration (PhD)[2]

Doctoral Dissertations

It is to be noted that "doctoral" requirements includes some courses and a "dissertation" of only 20-40 pages in length. The "University" claims to include original research and contribution to scholarship (though internet searches for student dissertations turn up nothing other than dissertation requirements for Liberty University).

No faculty are listed in the ALU catalogue [2]
